I must admit the game has come a long way, not in impressivenes of lighting, but overall polish. On the other hand your way of telling BS about release dates has not. So the free episode has now been submitted for more than two month (with company review being the problem). The 1.5h episode has been submitted about 2 weeks ago and should be in the store for a week now. But no, you now opt for a 2 hour episode which obviously hasn't been submitted at all with a projected mid November date (review time is less than a week, even less for updates or if you grant your fans an expedited review). It might sound sarcastic/cynic, but I would be not in the slightest surprised if you decide to rather do a 3h episode at $0.99 with a christmas release date.
Sorry but you (either me) are not the ones who decides when the game will be live or the time it takes for a review, or an update (or insert whatever excuse here). We are working closely with Apple crew and we are mostly listening to their requests. I'm not saying that they are responsible for any delay or something, what I'm saying is that what we are doing is for the better (for us, for Apple, for FM, for our fans). And no, there won't be any 3h episode at 0.99$ or any Christmas release date. I just don't want to tell you "it will be live next week" when even my self aren't quite sure about it. Why? Simply because anything in-between can happen and you'll probably be the first one frustrated (it looks like you are already frustrated btw) Anyway, sorry for any inconvenience. Regards from our Team.
Just want to put things into perspective here. Indigo lake was delayed by around 3 months, and not a day went by without several emails or messages coming in complaining about the delays, towards the end it was even getting a bit abusive. I can only imagine that Tato has it 10 times worse. People constantly begging for release dates just so they can hold it against you and use it as a weapon the second it misses the date. Its very hard to keep saying "when its done its done" to every email, twitter and facebook post, and as a developer you eventually crack and make the mistake of actually giving out a rough idea (tato has only ever given out rough release times and never an actual date). You only get one chance to get it right on the appstore, your launch week is so important and if there is one game breaker it can takes weeks to fix due to the review process and hundreds of 1* reviews. Lets stop throwing Tato rough release time guesses(which he did not want to give out but was constantly hounded for) back in his face as if its some kind of court room drama. I would rather he released a high polished game that hes happy with!
TRUE!! before bashing tato try to think about this foR 1 sec: does tato intentionnally give us fake release dates just to disapoint us several times? does he want to keep FM for himself because he's come to think that it was too good to be shared? is he not working hard on it in order to deliver the game as soon as possible? plus anyway we all don't have the choice (tato included). at this point and with what all those recent videos are showing even if it comes out in 2016 we'll still get it. why? well..... IT LOOKS AND PLAYS INSANELY DAMN F**KING GOOD!!!
And for those who have come to hate on this game because of the wait and think they're not getting it. well its not like FM will be the first game on the appstore featuring all at once: insane visuals and physics, free movements, deep story telling, 10h+ campaign, no iap!! there are a lot of successfull games on the appstore that have all of the above right?! like dead trigger, infinity blade, asphalt, modern combat etc....
Also, there are tons of high quality games on pc, console. If you guys are looking for an all out suspenseful, horror type game. Get Outlast on PC, soon to be on Ps4. It is supposedly an amazing game.
Hi fellow gamers! I don't post very often but when I see people criticizing developers for things out of their control, I get a bit frustrated myself. Now imagine how the developers themselves feel when they are faulted because they are trying to resolve issues for us gamers. If you want the game then forgive me if I'm wrong but aren't we here to provide encouragment and support? A nagging member of the forum just says to me "this person is desperate" . So instead of nagging and faulting give these guys and gals some credit and support them! Thats my rant over with
I can speak for a lot of people here when I say I think their are a lot of people that are frustrated with these delays. But I truly believe that in the next couple weeks we will be playing this game. Tato is there anything thing you can show these guys they we havenot seen already to silence them. New footage or something would be nice.
With over a thousand in this thread the dev keeps on bumping this thread and yet he blames forum members for being frustrated whenever he breaks his promises. Its unprofessional really.
Tato is not "bumping" this thread -- if he were, I would have banned him long ago. Basically, his posts here break into two categories: sharing new information about the game, or responding to (sometimes hostile) comments. It's not surprising that he posts often; if he fails to update folks for a couple of weeks, some troll will jump in to claim that the game is "vaporware." Where Tato has gotten himself into trouble is when he's give in to the constant demands for a release window. It would be better if he took more of a "it will come out when it's ready" attitude, but that's a tough thing to pull off in the mobile market.
Indeed, Actually, I've been very carefully with the so called "officials releases dates" lately. You'll notice that I'm clearly telling people that I don't know exactly when it'll be available only that I know it will be soon.
Quick question tho? Is the pilot episode like a sort of way to increase funding for the initial game? Or is there like a kick starter as well? If that's the case I wouldn't mind spending on some iap or backing it on kick starter to see this thing become a fully fledged game .
Sort of, The funds will help us port the game to other platforms and also will be used to promote and pr the game even more.
