The same effects runs on iPhone4S. With newer devices you have the choice to blow out your device with lot of fancy effects.
YouTube always displays the crappy versions of a video first, and you have to wait a bit longer for the 720p and 1080p versions to render in the background. The blizzard effects look great btw!
Does the flashlight battery recharge on its own or do we have to find batteries? Not much. I'm just annoyed right now because I just bought it. I'm well over the recommended specs and it took me about 90 minutes of fiddling and googling just to get it playable.
em...graphics looks superior than the whole vita games(except uncharted which is i think on par with). this game screaming for vita buttons and meant to be played (not nvidia ) on vita
Omfg I asked for a short video showing outdoor exploration and, almost 7 min now thnx a lot Tato. The light effects are great, and the way the snow turns he into a snowman if she stand still is really nice too. Trees moves with the wind, me like that :B The only thing I missed is her footsteps sound when on the snow, is the same as when she's walking on solid ground, dunno if you guys gonna change it later though. Still, I cant believe it actually runs on a ipad man, cant wait to see, and thanks again
This is going to be epic. And the fact we can have this possibly before the 15th is amazing. I can't wait for this game
november 3rd. my friend will buy one for me from korea(he's having a vacation there until nov 3rd). hmmm november 15th anddddd its going to be the longest weeks for me
No, you have to find spots where the flashlight recharges, there's no batteries. Having batteries is really dangerous and hard to playtest cause once the player doesn't have any more batteries, he wont be able to see in the dark. Quite different from weapons (once you run out of bullets, you still have your melee weapons). Also, it's easier for us to design some specific combats/enemies encounters in the dark for example, on very large corridors, we know exactly when the players will run out of flashlight charge and so that's why there's no batteries but only recharge spots.
Sort-of Yeah, Like the photo above (can also be seen in the darkness in case you run out of flashlight power).
This is the first time in the 4 years I've been following this game where I actually feel like the release is soon to come.
Someone asked me for in-game screenshots of the main character (due to the fact that Youtube videos where badly compressed). So here are few shots from the iPad2 (notice the light scattering all over the skin):
Guarantee a solid 24fps on mid-range devices (iPhone4S, iPad2, iPadMini, iTouch5) and a min of 45fps (or more) on high end mobile devices. Still, the graphics techniques I've implemented are unusual some of them are funky and hacky (like for example my fake Normal Mapping algorithm). Passes reduction, avoid heavy mathematical operations, simplified and/or approximated algorithms to make them run fast. Also, it takes a hell of a lot of tweaks and optimizations. Make such effects on a computer is an easy cake, make the same effect looks the same and run fast on a mobile device it's a huge challenge. Look at people faces when they drop their jaws = priceless! ^^
