Let me remind you that FM full-time production was started less than two years ago (even if it was announced before). As for the episode release date, It would be this month but I can't say right now exactly which day. Next week we going to get a definitive answer from Apple team, so I'll be able to provide a final release date for the Episode. Warm regards from your friends at Psychoz Interactive!
Well, I'll tell you right now as somebody who is a strong-minded, independent woman that you're wrong (as in really, really wrong), but if we want examples from contemporary works that back up the developer's arguments regarding character design, we need look no further than Castle's own Kate Beckett: Your idea that if the main character of this game looked more like the below images she would be more "believable" is such a ludicrous teenage boy's mindset.
On top of that, Rose (the main character of Forgotten Memories) was firstly designed by a Woman (friend of mine btw)!
Hey Tati please reply to this, so when the full game comes out, will there be separate episodes In the full game? Kind of the walking dead. You know how it has separate episodes in the full game and the players have to pay for the separate episodes? Will FM be like that? because I do not want to pay for the episodes. I would rather have it a full game. Please reply because I don't want to pay for each episode.
No, The majority of people doesn't want the game to be cut into episodes so it would be one full game.
Well, not that I reckon Aya being close to nude is great designing, actually I was referring more to this...and the fact that a lot of time and thought went into giving her "diverse" options for the player to enjoy. http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110402121532/parasiteeve/images/5/5b/CharacterSketchesAya01WhiteElder.jpg And no offense, but being designed by "A woman" does not make it reflective of "All women" Also every one of those "strong women with turtlenecks" examples is from half rate television series. I am sure google will yield a lot of similar results....sadly with budgets and small wardrobe departments, usually run by only one or two individuals, not every character outfit can be a winner. But again, if y'all think this is what "Strong woman" in today's age actually dresses like. Cool man. I just hope you toss in some bonus costumes for those of us that get bored of looking at that parka/turtleneck combo.
And here you just dismantle your "arguement". You can buzzword all ya like, but here you prove that you want the main to be eye candy. Dude, anime style of dress IS NOT realistic. At all. Aya was eye candy, not a strong independent woman. Welcome to the west mate. Realism is appreciated.
Actually, what comes to mind when I think of strong women is Heather Mason,Aya Brea (not just the 3rd Birthday but the Parasite Eve games) Ripley, Sarah Connor. Actors Like Michelle Rodrigues, all of these women manage to be both strong and not stale looking. "Strong" woman does not equate "completely covered up" woman. Clearly you are stuck in an anachronistic "second wave feminism" frame of mind. Just to bring you up to speed, the third wave of feminism started in the mid eighties...so in case you missed the memo, strong women are in fact, allowed to be sexy ( and have been since even before then). But if you insist that your "tough" chicks are sterile, then I guess you simply like to repress the individual freedom of choice and expression that is everyone's right. Stereotyping a tough chick as a fully covered boring one who has still character animations is hardly progressive. But hey, don't take my word alone, feel free to take a look at these articles, you will notice a good deal of sexiness and strength in these leading ladies from several different eras of cinema. Seriously. http://www.femalenetwork.com/travel-leisure/grrrl-power-25-strong-women-in-film http://www.ifc.com/fix/2012/03/10-toughest-women-movie-characters http://www.mrqe.com/lists/strong-female-char/cinemas-strongest-female-characters
I don't care how lead character looks / dresses as much as I care about gameplay and story, although to me she does seem appropriately dressed for detective work and cold weather.
Jesus, can you be any more condescending? We get it: you get your jollies playing dress-up with sexy Japanese dolls. There's nothing to be ashamed about that. You ain't hurting nobody. But using "third wave feminism" as a justification is kind of pathetic. For those of us who look for verisimilitude in our horror games -- a solid base of realism to support all the weirdness that we will encounter -- prefer to play with a character who dresses sensibly on a cold winter day.
Standard issuse anime girl #376 IS NOT a good example. Feminism? Really? Your anime girls are just fantasies. The 80's gals where not progressive. Using charecters from Japanese games are a bad idea.
Not really. The discussion is about character design as it relates to this game -- and by extention, other survival horror titles. The issue of the representation of women on video games is also relevant. And, of course, this thread will remain open until the full game is released.
