Totally agree, Beta tester must and should give as much info/recommendation about his experience while testing.
Like the music, eariler you said about taking a poll regarding the games release, whether it should be in chapters or wait for the final game, I say wait for the games total completion. I'm still wAiting fr episode 2 of fallen, I think by the time it arrives I will have forgotten the first episode.
The music is great, I hope when you start the beta testing you won't get that one guy who is huge d**k and pirates the beta. But most people on TA are trustworthy so I wouldn't worry to much about that
Just look for members like DG who give good well rounded feedback. Not some random kid who hasn't even posted yet -_-
Yeah I know, tato should really give the majority of the spots to trusted members of the TA forums. I think there is list of them on the private game devs forum. (But I am sadly not on it (probably))
I had a chance to listen to the music. As a piece of music it's pretty good, I'll give it high marks for that. As the title music to this game it feels a bit out of place. It starts off great -- spooky, minor key, all that good stuff. But when the guitars and drums start to kick in, it goes from being a good tune for a horror fright fest to being something I'd expect to see attached to a slasher flick. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but to me there's a clear delineation between a horror and slasher where the former builds genuine fear and suspense (The original Halloween I and II, The Fog, the first Nightmare on Elm Street, etc.), while the latter is all about sh(l)ock and gore (The entire Friday the 13th series, the rest of the Elm Street and Halloween flicks, etc.). The former takes itself seriously; the latter is turn-your-brain-off-and-enjoy material. Maybe it's just me. Seems to be just me based on the responses here, but I'm a muso, so maybe I'm more sensitive to it.
I don't know, with a slasher flick, I would imagine more of a metal soundtrack. This reminded me of the older Castlevania titles. The guitars and drums weren't overwhelming for me, the piano and lighter instruments always came through while harder, louder instruments brought a bit of intensity!
The music posted earlier is the Trailer Debut theme not the title music. Think of as Silent Hill debut trailer theme, a bit similar. Forgotten Memories main theme is deeper, quite psychological too. We have even a singer on it. Cheers,
Yup, Our composer is an avid fan of Akira Yamaoka and of course is a very good source of inspiration for him, for us.
