Did you like Pac-Man Championship Edition? If so, you don't even need to think about a purchase. This has a lot more variety and technique... wall scratching actually has purpose now, and planning your route through the maze takes fast, measured thinking. You'll get big points by collecting a large string of flowers, but enemies will break that chain, and there's always the threat of blasting yourself with your own bullets if you get too greedy and follow the flowers into a warp tunnel. You can protect yourself with the key, but of course, that also breaks the flower chain. Since every stage is different, you'll constantly be coming up with new strategies, giving Forget-Me-Not a metric buttload of replay value. You could wait for the eventual PC release, but why wait when you can have it now? Every reviewer who's played it has loved it, and it's only two dollars. Come on, you can barely get a coffee for that price.
I don't get it. You're worried about him pirating a VIC-20 game that came out in 1982? Taking sales away from the legitimate publisher? What's the problem here?
He was discussing how an old Vic-20 game resembles this game in some ways, which is retro-inspired. Seems on-topic to me. And are you seriously concerned about someone playing a 1980's Vic-20 game on an emulator? Seriously?
"Who you think you are?" Did I ever make any grand statements about who I thought I was? I guess I must have missed them. I've got plenty of ideas about who I think you are, though, and none of them are polite.
Regardless, what you posted ("send me a pm and I'll hook you up") was out of place and against the rules in an iOS games forum, even if it refers to games for other systems. If that's not against the rules, then I'm mistaken.
Your Personal Robot: thankyou Oh, gah! I thought I'd managed to fix that.. (you're running version 1.0.1 right?). Back to the drawing board....
At least you got that right. How about jumping on people for innocuous comments? I'm pretty sure that's against the rules. Unless, of course, I'm mistaken.
Hey nyarla, while you're here, just wanted to say again: thanks for the wonderful game, worth every cent. I've reviewed it positively in many places online, and told my friends. What's the plan for a PC/Mac version? Also, what's in the works for the current iOS versions?
Hey, thanks a lot Glad you're enjoying the game, and the reviews are much appreciated! At the moment I'm working on another project (something I'm coding for someone else, with a deadline, so it has to take precedence), so I won't start work on the next FMN update until that's done.. it's dragging on a bit, still got another 1.5 months or so to go... Current plans: The PC/Mac versions will be straight ports of the iOS version.. exactly the same but with joystick/keyboard controls. They will be freeware. These ports are sort of half-done so far... I know they'll work in theory, but they have some bugs at the moment (to do with the audio code I'm using - works flawlessly on iOS but not win/mac - so I have to try out some different things). And since I've decided to add some more stuff to the iOS version, I'll probably wait until that's all finalised before releasing PC/Mac ones, to keep them all the same.. iOS version: More control options.. some people want dpad. I'll try to make a usable dpad, though I can't see it being as good as swipe! Also, some difficulty balancing to make certain things more challenging for advanced players (It'll be much harder to hang around on a level forever farming points!). And I want to add some more enemy types and a couple more game modes. I have lots of ideas for these but no concrete details yet.. it won't take form until I start making it. The game modes won't be anything drastically different, just permutations of what's there already. I want to make a faster/harder mode. Maybe more powerups. Maybe some specific two player modes. Maybe some achievement/challenge type things. Might improve the level generator to add to the variety of levels it comes up with... Got lots of ideas, just have to try them and see if they work! I'll be sure to post about it when I have something more to show. But yeah, it's not going to be for awhile yet..
Fantastic, can't wait! All the new addition ideas sound great too. Best of luck with your current project.
Huh? Did I miss something? What is this game (haven't noticed before, 'til now) and why is it stirring up so much attention?
Well, if you've missed this so far, you're certainly missing out on something. Something good. Really good. Really, really good.
I don't have gamecenter. How am I doing? This game runs great on the world's oldest functioning iPhone
Bighemp: that would place you at #62 currently! Tough competition! Glad to hear it's running nicely on ye olde iphone Vovin: check out TA's review, here! <3
Here a "bug" I've run into a few times (no pun intended). If the exit appears on the very edge of a maze, you "bump" into it without exiting if you try to wrap around into it. Here's a quick example. Red = doesn't work, green = does work. Hope it makes sense.
Jeanreno: Ah yeah, that is a bit of a bug.. It's not toooo bad because it can never make a level impossible to beat.. could be annoying though if you're low on health, running from monsters, and expecting to unlock the door from the opposite side of the screen. I'll fix it in the update. Thanks
