And people still wonder why quite a few artists and designers use Macbook Pros. I mean...honestly...rendering 1080p 24fps content on that laptop should be far, far, far smoother than any other laptop so far.
Those pictures were not taken on a 3.0 megapixel camera. Look at that! The resolution is ridiculous! At least they included video, though.
To get the one with the 3.06 Ghz and 8GB of RAM will be like 3,500 or 4,000 at least...Macs are so overpriced and underpowered compared to any other laptop.
iPhone 3G The "S" is for "SPEED" Apparently the fastest of the bunch now. Probably a faster clocked ARM 11 CPU. Faster RAM. I don't see Apple going Cortex A8 or A9 now. Redesign, not totally new hardware. Still...30fps VGA movie capture. Niiiice. Wonder if the next iPod touch will add a camera. That'd be cool. After all...I'm in the market for a touch...not a phone.
Name one laptop with that configuration stock, sans upgrades, at a lower price that offers such battery life, value in the OS, and range of artistic software available on Macs. There aren't any. I'm not an Apple fanboy, btw. I was PC for years, and before that was an Amiga enthusiast (because back when they were teaching us how to use computers for art, Amiga's were the best of the bunch all around for such use). But the fact is that for everyday artistic use, sans huge headaches, Macs are most highly used. That's just the way it is.
Hey guys what do do think will the faster processor and ram mean for coming games? I mean will there be games, which will only playable on the new iPhone 3GS or what?
iPhone 3G $199* ... *with a 2 year contract, most probably ... C'mon, Apple. Show us the friggin' 3rd "gen" iPod touch already. My 1st "gen" is getting long in the tooth!
No. Not unless the developer is brick friggin' dumb and wants to lose out on the 40 million install base of current iTouch/Phone owners out there. Besides, the faster processor is just that: a faster processor. It isn't a next gen ARM they're using, probably. Just an upgraded ARM 11, same as they use in the current iTouch/Phone line. The smart developers will still develop primarily with the lowest common denominator in mind (iPod touch 1st "gen" for games and general apps for both iTouch and iPhone, iPhone 1st "gen" for iPhone specific apps). "Big" hardware changes (all new ARM CPU, new GPU, etc.) aren't to be expected for another year or two. This is simply a redesign that speeds things up a bit.
