couple of ideas to toss out: -a mode where you are constantly swinging up and up from one rope to another -you have a 3rd brother and must keep swinging horizontally passing one brother to another over dangerous obstacles
How about having an unlimited ceiling the acrobat can then swing up into and catch as many dots (anything really) as he can. Have a ring of fire he can leap through. Or how about having a spotlight that highlights him on random jumps, if he makes it, the score triples. The game certainly looks interesting, how I can win a promo and try it out. Thanks
Why stop at going up? This game could be made into a fantastic plataformer where you actually have to reach an objective (say a cannon to be blasted off of it). In that say, if you do go up, make it so you have interactive objects to do new acrobatics with (some bars, or just the ability to dive into a pool or a srpingboard now and then, a cannon that blasts you to objects) I mean, not only embrace the swinging part but the whole circus as 1 awesome game. Maybe even different game modes for each, or a general one where depending where you swing, you can do something different.
How about a "Beat the Mustache" mode where you have to complete a certain objective within a period of time, but instead of a clock their mustaches get bigger until they fill the entire screen and you can't see what you're doing...
Actually, I looked at the game video and it gets repetitive. Just swinging around isn't going to attract more gamers. At the center is empty space. Probably, you can add a stack of chairs. At each chair, there is a stunt to be performed by the flying brothers if they swing and landed on the chair. Thus, the gamer will try ways to do that. This will keep the game alive. Stunts like rolling a ball on your two feet, balancing knifes using your mouth or doing a somersault will also suffice. Each of these stunts will give the gamer some bonus points and will be performed at each stack level of chairs. The more bonus points they have, the more chairs they can stack up at the center to do more stunts - eg. more stunts will be unlocked or gamers can use the points to purchase stunts. It is like watching live performance right in front of your eyes and wanting even more! Perhaps a live monkey or pets can be purchased also through in-app purchase and the gamer can include that as a live performance as well.
What about adding obstacles to swing over and around? Thinking about the various acts in a typical circus, there are several that might work in this game...swing over Knife Jugglers, swing over Elephants or the horse riding Daredevils, swing under The Trapezee Artists, or avoid the Human Cannonball that flies across the screen.
"Jungle Hunt" mode where you use this game engine to traverse around the big top avoiding lions, etc.
Ideas Ideas for the swing brothers contest -an endless mode where some lava spits at you, trying to burn you. -A boss mode where you fight against various bosses, killing them by bouncing on them. -a long jump mode, see how far you go with one swing! -Maybe a cross over with doodle jump where you ascend by throwing yourself into the air, trying to go higher. -Maybe the points you get add up to a total and you buy stuff with them, like slinky shoes so you bounce when you fall standing up, a hook to attach yourself that only serves once, etc. -A mode where you have to throw yourself into a pool, as you start passing the levels, the pool starts going smaller and smaller. -A mode where both brothers have to jump at the same time and both survive, having to pass obstacles with start getting harder. -Maybe a mini- game mode that involves them doing other stunts, like not falling off a uni cycle. I already came up with this idea three days ago in the other thread, and was about to enter it, so who who would get credit if this one won, me or him, because I posted first anywhere, but he posted first here. Or both?
-Easy, medium and hard mode - the brother could be bigger and more likely to catch the ropes with their body in the easier modes. -Freeplay mode - the ropes are adjustable, you can move them around on the screen (left & right and up & down, but not too close to each other) and you can change their lenght by a little bit (longer and shorter). Players would get more points for lasting longer when the ropes are lower on the screen, shorter and further apart. -Point mode - there could be all sorts of randomly appearing objects that give you points. The only way to get points in this mode is to get objects, you would have to jump and survive longer to get more objects to get more points. -Avoid 'em mode- the purpose of this mode is to last the longest. Objects that would knock the brother off his rope fall randomly from the ceiling and players have to make the brother jump quickly to the next rope to avoid getting hit. At the beginning of the game the objects would fall slowly so that players get practice as jumping but as the game progress the objects would fall faster.
You should advertise this as promo codes, not gift cards. You might give some people the wrong impression.
What about a battle mode? Match up with people online and just see who can score the highest in 1 minute battles against each other. 1 minute of watching your opponent and seeing them do their best and one minute of your turn. For the purpose of this mode, the time it takes to fall and get back on the ropes should be shortened though.
