I just recorded the preview and overview of Flying Aces 2.0. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUqoxvLsecY&fmt=18 OR http://www.apptheater.com/video/700/Flying-Aces-20 NOTE: 2.0 will be available soon, it has been submitted as of 2/20/09 New Features Include: 1. A thrust meter on the left side of the HUD! 2. New sound when an enemy goes rushing by! 3. Three accelerometer control settings, so you can play in any position. 4. Other improvements If you have any questions feel free to email me at: Kenny@snakeheadsoftware.com . ALSO, If you have ANY feature request, please feel free to post them below.
Online's a bit of a problem since everyone has different connection speeds. For example, while you're 5 feet away from an enemy player, you may seem 10 feet away from them since they have slower connection. It's the reason games like this and SlotZ have refrained from doing so. Local's fine because everybody's using the same connection speed, which needless to say causes no lag.
Never knew about this game (lol app store browsing fails) and it looks great, thanks for bringing it to my attention. Also i'd like to suggest maybe a city map, with a few polygon buildings you can fly between instead of regular flat land/sea.
Free Update? Is this a free update? I'll by right now. I have just added another $50 to my itunes, so time burn a hole in that pocket!
I have Flying Aces and I have liked it since it was released. It's unfortunate it doesn't have a better appstore rating. I find it provides the best flying "feeling" out there. The last update really made things even better. It wasn't that long ago that it was updated. Sparks, is that a typo on your first post? Where you say the new update will be released in sept?
Has Snakehead Software considered tilt calibration? Well now that I ask there was a poll that asked about features gamers wanted added, and I highly asjk again for tilt calibration. Also just a suggestion, reading through appstore reviews, not just for FA but most flying games, a good percentage of people want the option for both first person view and third person. Wow how slackerish of me tilt cal. is listed as one of the upcoming features. Kudos for that!. =~}
Ah sorry not yet, I was just going by your video and screens. I'll grab it tomorrow since I already have a few games to play tonight
Here's a few small requests: -Redout & Greyout -if not a full flight model, please model corner speeds & behaviors like the nose dropping when banking -Afterburner, not boost (this is supposed to be a F-15, right?)
In case you didn't realize it, the game is designed such that if you are heading down (ie: nose dipped forward) you will gain speed and when you pull up, you will slow up a bit. Of course, all this depends on what your throttle control setting is based at under 2.0.
