A lot of the ultra-simple games out there tout "one more time" addictive qualities, but I rarely agree. Flip's Escape has said quality to me. I can never just play one game. On another note, the notion of future Flip and Friends games has me wondering what's next. A lunar lander game would probably fit naturally in the ongoing storyline, and perhaps a metroidvania to follow, but who knows? Shaun Inman is one of four devs in my buy on sight list, and that's not looking to change.
They'll probably make a different sort of game that follows the original, then put out a side game again like this one.
I do have a problem with this addictive game: I am not able to buy anything even if I do have enough gems. Anything I can do?
There's a bug in the game for some international players. Some number fields show a zero for the thousands separator (instead of a decimal point or space). So in your screenshot you only actually have 5.300 gems and the item you are trying to buy is 50.000 gems. The typeface used by the upper gems number field doesn't have a space or decimal point character so it's just showing the first character in the typeface (in this case a zero). I've already fixed and submitted the update to Apple. Sorry for the confusion! I've since added an international beta tester (the first person to report this problem to me) so hopefully this sort of thing won't happen again!
I'm loving the game, I have one small issue though; the store bought out achievement didn't unlock for me unfortunately. Anyone else have this? Looking forward to your next work Shaun! EDIT: never mind, no issue. You have to buy 8 of the consumable items each. Fun game! And I'm amazed this was three weeks work.
This is a terrific game. I don't see what all the talk about the IAP, I've bought most of the upgrades already and I only bought the game today. Time to download the last rocket now.

So, this game is fantastic. I think I like it ether than TLR. The only thing that bugs me is the difficulty curve. I feel like the game is harder at the very beginning than it is after a few hundred skulls (or whatever the timer thing is). As things speed up, it gets easier to judge if you're on a collision course with an asteroid, and you can stop worrying about whether a star will be in the right part of its orbit as you fly by. A particularly extreme example of this is the initial trajectory of the ship, which quite frequently is lined up with the first asteroid. I don't see the point of killing off new players before they've seen even one core game mechanic. Anyway, Shaun, if you're reading this, you might consider what the developer of the "Pew Pew" games did. Pew Pew 2 is a classic example of how to make a game accessible, without compromising the ultra-hardcore gameplay that seems to be so important to you. I look forward to seeing what you do next.
I played the game for a long time and finally got the Ninja Hull. But this 300.000 crystals things does not have any effect. Do not buy it.
I think GameCenter is broken now as well, it won't load up in game. Edit. GameCenter is working it was being stupid on my phone. But the game could do with full screen support.
