Hi there, I'm still getting advertisements although I purchased the $3.99 upgrade. Screenshot attached. Thanks! PS finally unlocked the wolverine - pretty cool to be able to hop forwards!
Oh yeah, sorry about that. Noodlecake promotes their other games every once in a while (it should happen pretty infrequently), which is separate from the game ads. I'll ask them about turning that off for users who've purchased the remove ads IAP. The Werewolf definitely makes the game play differently. Glad you find it interesting!
Finally got the time to post here. Kudos to these devs. This isn't your typical endless runner that cracks your brain for dying so often in minutes and resorts to cheap quick revive. You need to think what character to use, which skills to upgrade, which tiles to jump on, when to use your special, etc.. The animation of your character hopping on those vicious creatures and evading those nasty spikes valiantly, combined with retro style is an eye-candy. This is the kind of fun that brings smile even when you're done playing. I can see that this game is going to stay on my phone for a very long, long time (if this gets updated regularly) Gold comes very easy after purchasing the ad-free. I am now lvl 10 on all characters (except Monk and Sumo) and running out of things to upgrade. There is no literal use of gold afterwards, unless you'd like to tweak some upgrades and portals. The former doesn't take much if you plan your upgrades carefully. Once you find the optimal skillset, it's over. Portal? I don't know, my only aim in this game is to reach the highest killstreak (currently at #7) That being said.. I use Wizard. His double life gain (and monk's) is the killer feature. Many said that Archer is good. Yeah, she is an all-round character, a jack of trades, but a master of none. Hell, her upgrades are very straightforward if you omit the coin upgrades (I use warlock to grind them). Archer is still viable at 300-400 killstreaks but not beyond- and this is true for all characters with 0/1 life gain. My only suggestion is to make health stops depleting any faster at some point (by making a more challenging terrain perhaps?) because it just forces you to stop playing at a certain point, no matter how good you are. This makes life gain being the only feature to look in a character, by the game's current design. To devs, any planned update? New characters? Multiplayer? Please, do not abandon this game. We love everything about this game. Being honest, this is the kind of game I wish I made. Gotta sue these devs for making a game so good it robs your time mercilessly. Bravo Noodlecake!
Thanks for the support Cigarekt, It's always great to hear from people who are really enjoying Flipping Legend. No need to worry, we intend to support Flipping Legend for as long as we can. We didn't see the release version of the game as the final product, just enough of the core to get out there. We're working on a content update now which will hopefully be the first of many. I agree about the ever increasing life drain - It's always going to be a part of the game, but as we add more complex zones to the loop we will tweak it with each update. I'm not sure there is a definitive build for each character. A lot of it is down to play style, but I know for myself I have had success with different builds, and have been surprised at how my friends have upgraded characters in ways I wouldn't have considered. It'd be interesting to see what kinds of build people are favouring. My current highscores are with the Sumo and the Archer, You should be able to identify the upgrades from the Icons and ability buttons in these screen grabs:
Great game! enjoying it a lot; have unlocked everyone, trying out different things some questions: 1. What are the chests in game? I mean the big ones while you are running. I thought they looked like gold/treasure, but I watched my gold when I went over one and it didn't increase 2. The review mentioned something about rewards increasing with kill streaks. Is that right? If so, how does that work? 3. It looks like your life doesn't increase when you kill a monster with skills like the helmet/reflect projectile from amazon, for example. Is this correct?
They give you a chest to open after the run if you watch an advert (similar to the free brown chest available in the shop). If you don't have an internet connection, then you won't see anything after the run as there is no ad to watch. However, if you've purchased the remove ads IAP then you'll always be able to just open them after the run (no ad watch required). The main score is based on points received from defeating enemies. Kill streaks increase the amount of points received from defeating enemies (capped at +5 points/kills). Watch closely to see the numbers flying out of enemies when you hit them. those are the points you're getting). Letting an enemy pass 2 rows behind your character will reset/break your current kill streak. Kills from helmet reflected projectiles should give you life. This may be a bug. I'll look into it!
This is the perfect mobile game. Simple, addictive gameplay with surprising depth. Having so much fun with it. Right up there with Downwell, Polytopia and Phoenix 2 for me in terms of perfect design for mobile. Really hope you guys are making some money off of it and that we'll see continued support for it! I'll do my best to spread the word.
Don't want to spoil the surprise, but here's a little peak: I'll also say that the skins for this new character are rad, and the special ability is quite interesting. There will also be a new environment in addition to other changes/features.
First, thanks for the update! Great that this is still being supported. This game was my go to for quick action during boring parts of the day. I forgot to reinstall this when I got my X so I was totally surprised when I saw this on TA now supporting the larger screen. Perfect to take it for another run! Secondly, how can I unlock the new character? I had over 12k gold in my cloud save, but theres no option to buy. Thanks!
