For all who already downloaded Fling! for free, we would like to hear your opinions regarding the game Also I would like to let you know that Fling! is now in the TOP 100 in the USA!
I like it. It's hard and furballs are cute. All in all amazing puzzle game for 0$. I don't know how much do you plan on charging for it but I think it should definitely be above 1$. I'd be willing to pay 3-4$ for this.
Have you noticed that apple loves your icon? When accessing itunes store through the phone, your icon is used for several of the subcategories including board games (lol).
Yeah it was cool too see the icon everywhere, I'm pretty sure it was an automatic thing resulting from Fling! sitting at the top of the respective categories (while it was still free). It actually sat at the top of all free apps for about a day before we switched it back to paid, which was cool .... its switched back to paid now, so no more freebies
Kinda reminds me of Mouse About by CobraMobile and I begged them for an untimed mode and they never listened. I'm glad you have a free play mode. Will be playing it some more.
I cannot fathom how there could be nearly 3000 reviews with a 3 star average. I understand that people that DL for free leave inferior reviews on average, but Fling is so darn polished this makes no sense. How could anyone interested in a puzzle game possibly give this one or two stars. Reviews on itunes really are worthless I guess.
It's a very good product, but the thing that I don't like about it is that's basically a trial and error game. Other than that is definitely one of the better free games out there.
re the 3-star average .... one theory we have is that when the app sees a huge burst in downloads, the initial reviews are the people that try+delete it quickly, leaving on average lower scores .... while the written reviews are more overwhelmingly positive still ... so it could in theory recover a little over time and yeah, there is also a definite effect that when its free (and when its top of all apps especially) many people will download it that don't care for that kind of game, and then soon delete and give a low score, and that will hurt the average .... this was one reason why some of us within our company argued against making it free even, as we noticed this with Fuzzle as well when it was free. still, on the flip side the absolute number of reviews exploded as a result, and this is something we find users also value, since it implies the reviews must be more real, and means a lot of people at least played it .... and in any case, we're really excited that since going back to paid, instead of disappearing back into obscurity, its sitting now in top 100 of all paid apps and still climbing so looks like many of the 500,00 people who got it while free must be showing it to their friends ... at least its the only explanation we have for why the free-promotion seems to have led to such good post-free sales
It might feel that way when your first learning, but eventually you push that feeling further and further out. The earliest I get that feeling is level 7, and usually not till somewhere between 8-10.
I feel almost guilty, this game is just VERY good, and presentation is polished. On level 9, not sure how many left, but this is top app material.
There are 19 levels. I am on level 14, like one puzzle away from 15, but I have largely given up on it, that puzzle is too hard for me and yet I dont want to skip it and get penalized. You sort of have to play a lot of arcade or practice at lower levels because if you try to go straight through, its capable of driving you crazy. Particularly as you progress a few more levels. If you *really* want to bull through, a pen and paper can help you keep track of the options you have thought through. Just thinking about it more methodically like that will often quickly give you the solution. Somehow that method failed for me on the lvl 14 puzzle...must have dismissed an option too quickly, false believing it violated the unique solution rule.
I've found so far that it's easiest to find a solution by excluding the moves that result in balls "out of reach". A little bit of forward thinking goes a long way.But I'm only on 9, I take it easy one level at a time. So looking forward to the next ten, and especially 14 , thanks ArtNj.
One thing that is a HUGE help is excluding moves that dont lead to a unique solution. If it doesnt matter whether you do A or B first, then A + B cant be the first two moves because the solution wouldnt be unique. It can get confusing applying this rule sometimes, but it is never broken. (They dont count the last two balls, which can obviously be flung either way.)
