Kindred Spirits I don't want to go too far off topic, but just to clarify, our early Kindred Spirits prototype is indeed running on PC and it was conceived as a multi-platform title so that people on different hardware could play together. That video is about a year old. However it is a huge project and won't be ready anytime soon, we will be releasing plenty of other (as yet unannounced) games first But it's great to hear you guys like the look of it, it's shaping up to be awesomely fun as well as gorgeous looking! Alex
Firemint, I haven't heard from you guys in a while since Real Racing. How's it going on over there I bought Real Racing and I have to say it's fun but we need a sequel for it or you can make a Real Racing HD version either one works
Are the planes going to be bigger to fit in the screen? Or will the map be bigger, while the planes stay the same?
I really hope the planes stay the same with bigger maps. Or I guess different levels could have different scales. Either way, I'm dying to see some screenshots! Edit: although I can understand why Firemint would be cagey with their screenshots. If they were to put some out, Harbor Master HD would suddenly beat them to market!
I'm really hoping that the air crafts will be bigger, anything else would not make sense. Not necessarily keep the same level/air craft scale as on the iPhone, but just creating more unused space doesn't seem very clever IMO, as you're also likely to keep the iPad a bit further away than the other iTouch-devices. Really looking forward to this - actually just bought Flight Control a week ago despite all the hype, but not I'm really addicted. Hopefully it won't just be a port to the iPad though, some innovation would be lovely.
Before long I suspect there wouldn't be much of an "unused space" problem, regardless of scale. Using the same size planes would give it even more of a flight controller feel, since you'd have view of tons of planes at large distances, as in reality. Course you could probably fit multiple airports on a screen, too, if wanted. Really, this is why I'm so eager to see some screens. You can already consider me sold, but there are so many directions you could take this.
if it is the same sized planes, and with a faster processor you could have hundreds of planes up in the air at once, for a game mode how crazy would that be it could also handle particle effects, like dynamic weather..
I didn't even think of dynamic weather! Imagine having to constantly push clouds around to get a good view of different parts of the map, or needing to avoid lighting/storm clouds. Maybe strong wind would make planes fly slower in one direction than another. Or jet streams creating turbo lanes.
Yeah, we've been a bit quiet - been very busy making games! But as soon as we have interesting things to say, you will hear from us, don't worry As I mentioned, unfortunately I can't share any details about Flight Control HD just yet, but we have already said that we are doing more than just upsizing the graphics. Thank you all for your support, we appreciate it very much and it's great to hear you're looking forward to Flight Control HD! Alex
appadvice has a screenshot, looks as if it's 2 player multiplayer on a huge map, where everyone has to take care of a different segment awesome here it is: article: http://appadvice.com/appnn/2010/03/flight-control-hd-hit-ipad-day-1-screenshot/
Wow, nice, although I'd love to see what the single-player looks like, too. I wonder how they're getting the screenshots. Someone with review hardware spilling the beans? Would explain how they know the price ($4.99).
Wait, you're mixing it up. I posted the pic from another site, said what I think the game will be like
Huh? That is a multi-player screen, given the "Player 1" and "Player 2" scores. AppAdvice says there's a "major emphasis" on multi-player, so I said I'd love to see what the single-player looks like, too, to ease concerns that it might be pushed to the background. AppAdvice has a screenshot, apparently taken with a camera off-screen, hiding what the iPad looks like (review unit identifier?). Seems odd, since Firemint hasn't given any indication that they'll tell us anything about the game until we're playing it. So I was wondering where they were getting the screenshot, and figure it's probably a review unit and someone bought Flight Control off the store (we know it's already up on the store), which is why AppAdvice also claims to know the price. What am I mixing up?
