I'm assuming you're doing it in vs CPU mode (as that's the one to do). You need to win the Big Fish trophy in normal mode, but we do still get people reporting getting stuck once in a while (so it's possible we've not eliminated all possible ways of it missing the fact you've won). Are you quitting part way through the tournament and resuming by any chance? If so, try beating the tournament in one go. Also, don't use the 'retry' option if you don't win the first time.

Let me know how it goes.

    Extreme mode private beach impossible?

I'm on the verge of giving up on Flick Fishing (as all my mates have) because catching the big fish at the private beach in extreme mode is impossible!

I've won every tournament, caught all the named fish and completed the quest but I cannot land a fish hooked at 210 feet in extreme mode at the private beach. I've played them for at least 20-30 minutes and then had the line snap. If you try to take it easy the fish just escape. I enjoy a challenge (probably more persistent than my mates) but I'm starting to agree with them that this is impossible. Am I missing something? Is there a trick that I (or my mates) can't suss? Or is this just a developer who wants to beat everyone? I suspect the latter.

    >>I'm on the verge of giving up on Flick Fishing (as all my mates have) because catching the big fish at the private beach in extreme mode is impossible!<<

Hey, don't give up yet. I almost did myself too...like yesterday because I was having the same problem. It was too outrageous to catch the fish on the Private Beach, but then I figured out the "trick." And now I have caught Bazzacuda.

Trick - Don't do any reeling in of the fish when the Fish Strength is jiggling, but when it's calm, reel in quickly and with purpose. Stop IMMEDIATELY when it starts jiggling again. You can reel in extremely slowly when it's jiggling, but usually I just hold the position for less than 5 seconds. If it needs to be more than 5 seconds, then I release some line out making sure there isn't any backpressure on the reel when it stops. You can definitely reel in the big fish when you try this.

I also noticed that when I cast out anything other than a lure or spinner, if you hold your thumb on the Golden Lure, it will usually click back 1 foot, then a strike will occur within a couple of seconds. It prevents you from needing to continually wait for a strike. Cast 210' with bait, then hold the golden lure, it will click back to 209', and then the reel will cycle from the 8 o'clock position to the 10 o'clock position. Seems like the cycling to the 10 o'clock position is important or it doesn't work. Make sure you make it cycle from 8 o'clock to 10 o'clock with a gentle movement of the thumb in a brief downward movement.

I don't have any cheats, but the game would be kind of dumb if I could catch all the fish by cheating.

I haven't seen anyone post anything about catching Hoff. But I still need to get the Boss Fish Marlin and Swordfish...probably the Boss Carp too. Looks like there might be a Boss Trout also.

    Here are my Fish:
    GUMS - 209.00

Whoa! Just got off it with a 108lb pike and 26lb sea bass! But... My only named fish is Old Mog. Can anyone give me any tips to catch others because every time it's like this is surely a named fish! But, no it's just a big normal fish. I'm in Extreme mode. Is there anything else that i should know??
    Much appreciated,

Nope, I fish too and that's what's so cool about this game it's actually pretty accurate (except for the time it actually takes to reel a fish in that big!).
