Someone needs to write a walkthrough for this on GameFAQs or somewhere, we keep seeing the same questions
Understandable, then, so respeccing is totally the way to go. And now I'm excited to finish the game and start over too! I've been avoiding finishing the game because I don't want it to be over Yeah, so kind of the same idea as the hunk of stinky cheese, then... Thanks for this, I can see how changing the pricing dynamic would be quite difficult. Though, once I figured the markup system out, I was able to play around with it a bit more I can't wait to see a sequel! Thanks again for your responses, I'm doing my best to spread the word about this game through my network of beer-geek buddies.
One last question, are some of the event rewards required in order to brew Fiz? I missed out on a few, and now I'm concerned that I'm stuck forever. I can't find the Key to Friendship or the White Bees' Honey...
Nothing required is ever a "one time" or similar event. You should always be able to complete the game no matter what (except if a bug happens). You'll get some new events to help with the honey and the key about 9 months after finishing the tears. And thanks for spreading the word!
Key to friendship I'm stuck on Key to Friendship. You're supposed to brew an 1 800 quality beer for a beer that has 0. Yes, I know there are tablets but I only have +400 tablets. And since there only is 4 slots avaible in that recipe I can only reach 1 600. I've read somewhere there is supposed to be +500? I've never been able to purchase that from Zooey. Stuck, would appriciate some answers. Love the game otherwise! Perfect for my kind of taste of game. Thanks for creating it.
Spoiler'd so people not this far don't find out: Spoiler Z's Item Shop has a 50% chance of selling Extra Large Purity Tablets, which add 500 to the Quality Cap, so you can wait for her to show up with one of those, or if you want, you can hire an employee with the Special Ability of increasing the Quality Cap, use them to brew the Terrib-ale, and then fire them and rehire your old employee. Hope that helps!
can anyone help me with the hunt fo rthe great white ale? I can't seem to get the correct strength and quantity. Im using the maneater brew but as there are no additives spaces i cant get anywhere near. Does it matter which employee you use on each task, can they be better utilised on different tasks? Kip 4,4,4,5 Akers 5,4,6,8 Magnusson 7,5,7,7 Katagari 4,7,5,6 Cheers Mike
Hey Mike, Spoiler You just need 100 Units of Quality 1600 or better Maneater. You aren't required to modify the Recipe. If you can't brew that high of Quality yet, you can upgrade your Fermenting Equipment to help, and if that doesn't do the trick, you'll just need to level your Employees vital stats for brewing, which increases Quality. So for instance, whoever is doing your Packaging, you should level up their Dexterity. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the reply all my equipment is on max looks like I'll need to get some different staff in and train them up. The current ones above are all maxed out Will also have to work out the best for thenothers.... dexterity for packaging.......
Really loving this game! I've been going through it like crazy, now at 4000+ quality brews Two minor things: - The game crashes occasionally, can't figure out a common cause though. If I can help by sending error reports or something, let me know (analytics are turned on I think) - I've started a NG+ and replaced one of my expensive employees by the starting char because of salary. Now I'm further in, but I can't fire him. So I'm stuck with two main characters. Not sure if this is intended? Thanks for making this awesome game, I'm back to brewing
I have a few questions/comments regarding markup vs. the competition. 1. It seems that should a competitor be selling the same style as I am am selling at the same venue, shouldn't higher quality fetch a higher price? Not to say that tripling the price is right, but I find that though I may be a bit higher on price/markup, with substantially higher quality, no one will buy the product quoting price. It would be like no one buying Pliny the Elder because it's too expensive. 2. I have found that knowing HOW the competitor is doing at an establishment would go a long way in knowing how my product would sell. If I am selling at a lower markup and have a better quality, I have seen where apparently price is still too high. If I knew how well the competitor is doing, I could more accurately price some brews. If I know what their markup is, then I should know how they are doing. In real life terms, I would be more likely to know how they are selling vs. markup. Also, maybe I am missing it, but is there a way to see what the competition's markup is vs. starting cost? It seems that knowing that may help too. 3. Maybe some mini games during the brewing process? ooor let me play my own music during the game? =) 4. Lastly, the time and date seems a bit unrealistic. I have so far been in business for 101 years! Also, I wouldn't oppose making the quantity of beer more realistic, such as producing barrels at a time. With all this said, I love the game and these suggestions/questions are splitting hairs. Just minor details that could use some tweaking. Addicting, and making me want to pursue a real brewery! For my own progress, I am stuck on the Great White Ale mission. I know I need to make the Wit, but since I can't add a doppelganger, I suppose it is up to hiring (equipment totally upgraded) to produce over 100 units? Cheers!
How do I start a New Game +? I've finished the game and started a new one but it was exactly the same as the first game.
I need help with Igor's mystery challenge. I can't for the life of me understand what I'm doing wrong. I've followed the guide on the devs website (http://i.imgur.com/iiW4ShE.png) but the recipe won't work for me. How's here it looks in my game: http://imgur.com/YRwyFjW I've tried the malts in reverse spots per the guide but it won't work. What am I doing wrong? EDIT: I just figured it out. Ignore the above.
Need help with Maneater in Fiz I am at the Maneater brew and have tried these tips my equipment is fully upgraded, and my employee that packs is at full dexterity. Do all of the employees need more dexterity? I am stuck and not sure what to do. Here are my employees and stats form intelligence to craft. Kip Douglas 2 2 9 4 Cleaning Samantha Elland 1 10 1 3 Packaging Shiki Katagari 5 5 2 8 Mashing and Boiling Brian Akers 3 3 3 5 Fermenting Any help would be great.
yarr here be spoilers great game, spent a lot of time losing money at first, really liked what eddie did at the end, great gesture of friendship. if you were attempting to tug at heartstrings there, good job. loved the feeling of roller coaster tycoon as well. maybe a further expansion could touch on selling keg beer along with bottled or canned beer. i know the shelf life is an added caveat to deal with, which is why stored beer keeps indefinitely. perhaps a vastly exciting sequel could take into account transporting beer through distributors and such. sort of like how i was basically brewing swill budweiser for the surf shack and craft beer for the hole, stella artois for the belgians, etc. good show. if you were attempting to write an entirely unlikeable character, you succeeded with gary blau. Spoiler i did not like being forced to 'save' him at the end. he reminded me of samuel l's character in lakeview terrace. this is NOT a dig, just telling you that the way the story was written did not leave any room for me to like him in the slightest. did not detract from the game at all though. if anything, it drove me to finish because i knew something would happen to balance it out. Spoiler so, i chose to NOT give the fiz to blau, because he was such an effing jerk the entire game. just because hes an asshole, doesn't mean he should die may be good prose, but when given another option that leads to glory, i don't feel the least bit bad about letting him rot.
Another thing to potentially consider, when splitting a very large batch into smaller batches for sale at smaller markets - the cost per unit must be factoring in the profit made from the prior sale of a portion of the original brewing. Perhaps the cost per unit (for an entire batch) could be calculated as a fixed number, based solely on the cost of materials plus cost of the employees salary, divided by the quantity brewed. That way, the remaining units of a well-selling batch does not have it's markup affected by the stellar sales of the first shipment. Also, I deleted and restarted an NG+ after hiring my "owner+" and being unable to fire him... Shouldn't hiring an owner+ replace the old owner?
Playing through NG+ and I got the A Beery Good Wedding mission, it asked for Spoiler 1800+ units of a 7300+ quality beer. Are numbers like this even possible? I had a fully upgraded team and even with every of the 40 points going into quality I was only hitting 6850 (only 131 units at that) . Is there an employee configuration I should be looking at to max? I just can't imagine hitting those types of numbers.
I managed to hit 9745 with the correct staff and recipe.. See below: Spoiler You need two Gary's (+50% Quality) and one Sarah (+100% Quality cap). Then you can use the aptly named "Record Breaker" recipe, which has a maximum quality of 2500. However, the recipe has 5 empty slots in which you can put the +500 quality cap item. This means the recipe itself has a cap of 5000 which doubled by Sarah becomes 10000. I have tried using two Sarah's and one Gary but couldn't get above about 7000 with all 3 hired characters maxed out. Maybe if the main character is maxed as well I would be able to top my record, but I highly doubt it. Have fun brewing!
