    Pride of the City challenges

I just opened the two challenges, Pride of the City #1 and #2 -- but I don't have access to the stores that I'm supposed to be selling in! Have I done something wrong?

Check your Challenges page and see which ones reward you with new marketplaces. Do those challenges and you should have the required marketplaces. I had the same problem.

Except for Rotating Marketplaces like Countryman Leagues Club and Der Vaterland, Marketplaces don't change what types of Customers shop there, so you typically don't need to research Customers again once you've done it before.

That said, customer research asks 5, 12, or 50 random customers about their tastes, budget, and thirst, and it's possible (especially when researching only 5 or 12) that you would get skewed data in the case that many of the customers researched happened to be a minority group in the Marketplace.

For example, let's say that in Marketplace A, 10% of customers want Lager, 50% want Stout, and 40% want Pale Ale. It would be unlikely, but possible that the first 5 customers you met happened to be Lager drinkers (a .001% chance, in fact). If you're only researching 5 Customers, then you're going to have a misrepresented Customer base in this case. That's why it's a better idea to research higher numbers. And if you get the feeling that your research may not have been representative of the actual Marketplace, then trying a new round of Research can't hurt.

Thanks for reporting the bug, I'll look into it -- sorry it happened!

I wanted to add some more detail in that view but ran out of room in that list, but maybe when you're in the batch view screen from tapping Sell, I can get rid of less useful info like batch ID and replace it with Price and Style.

Allowing players to fail because they didn't meet the proper style or Quality was a decision I made because I didn't want to basically automatically tell the player which batch to select. The times where it's possible to select the wrong style are when the required style isn't given away in the description, and is instead a riddle or just hinted at, and the player has to figure it out. Any Event that outright says which Style it wants does limit your selection to that Style, though. I probably won't change that behavior unless I hear from a lot of players who have a problem with it, but I'll consider it all the same, thanks!

Good idea, I'll see what I can do.

    Our pleasure! Thanks for playing.

That will work for awhile, but eventually the original staff hits the level cap (level 10) and you won't be able to improve their attributes and hence your Quality any further, and you'll stall out somewhere around Act 2. You'll at least need to fire one of your original staff and hire an employee who starts at level 1 with higher stats, so they have a higher potential in the long run.

Nope, you should focus on keeping them in one job as opposed to balancing them out. It is a little linear that way, and I thought of ways to switch it up, but everything I came up with made the game a little too complicated.

Hey pell, the recipe is in the Brew Menu, listed under the Recipes Tab. That should give you some hints! Let me know if you need more help.

When you get these 2 Challenges, the Marketplaces required, Slim Margin's and The Beer Stone, should be available to purchase via the Marketplace Menu. Keep in mind they will be toward the bottom since they start out as locked and for purchase. If they aren't there, it's a bug, and please email me at [email protected] and I'll send you a promo code that will unlock the marketplaces, and fix the problem for you.

No time limit, the ending happens only when you've finished the story. It's up to you when that happens exactly. And after the story finishes, you are able to load your game again and keep selling if you want, though no more story events will happen, and you'll eventually run out of random events to receive.

Okay, I'm gonna ask it straight: would you say this is better or worse than the Kirosoft games? I loved Game Dev Story and Dungeon Village especially, though I found them to become boring after a few hours.

I'm the developer (so take this with a grain of salt), but I think it just depends on what type of game you like. I think succeeding in Fiz requires you to think a little more than a typical KS game does, so if you like that type of game but wish it was more challenging, you should enjoy Fiz. Fiz also has more of a story involved, so if you enjoy that it should act as a bonus for you.

Do you ever get a chance to get the outfits when you do a NG+? I haven't seen a chance to get any in any of the NG+ I have done.

Also, how do you get the last hidden employee or 2? I can't figure it out.

Great game, but I have a question :

Could you explain the "Customers Preference" graph ?

What are the numbers next to the beer type supposed to be ? And what is the ratio of the brown/yellow colors supposed to represent ?

The outfits (and probably the employees you are missing) come from the random Events. Around year 60 in every game, every random event should have been given out, so you get at least one chance to try each if you play long enough in a game. Try and complete each one, especially ones you didn't complete in your past games.

Here are the names of the events that give you outfits / employees:

    Tiger Suit Outfit
    Mascot Misery
    Croc Suit Outfit
    Huckleberry Kwizo, Taxidermist
    Murdershark! Outfit
    Bowling Sharks

    Employees whose description read:

This guy could use some exercise moving kegs...
    A Beery Good Wedding
A clever fellow who thinks the only thing better than...
    Knowledge for Thirst

The numbers next to the beer type show how many customers out of the number you researched (5, 12, or 50) prefer that style. The yellow color on top of the gray is a bar graph showing those results.

So I entered the Copper Cask Competition and lost. The event is not opening up again in subsequent years even though the game says I can enter once per year. Bug or...?

This gives away some of the story (you've seen it at this point) but I'll wrap it in a spoiler tag for others.

In the story text, once you get 2nd, Cyrus Uprum tells you that you can't enter again but that he thinks you have a bright future as a brewer. In actuality, you can do worse than 2nd place, in which the game allows you to enter Copper Cask again. Once you "win" the event, you actually get 2nd, for story purposes. Sorry for the confusion!
