Thank you for these wonderful comments. Like all of our games, this one is our baby and it's so happy for us to see when our babies are welcome. Yes we are working a lot to offer a great quality in our game. In fact it's easy, if we don't love one of our game, it stays in our tiny studio. We're trying to offer an new experience of game each time. The basics are this frame rate at 60 fps / great 3D world and the precision of our gameplay. The left/right option should be easy to do and will be integrate in the next version, but to be precise you are flying with your two thumbs : the left one is for the throttle/glide to left or to the right and the other is the the direction. We already worked on with a nice improvement in the animation of the aircraft and I'm waiting for the iPad pro to see what we can improve with this incredible new device. Yes it works with the iPhone 4S but the great experience starts with the iPhone 5 - and for the long term I prefer the great experience instead of a OK experience. With our Nintendo experience, we know that our history of games is sooo important. People like GloryDays then like ( or loved ) Pop Island and the rest was easy. We work a lot and people trust us to give them our best. It started on iOS now with Fish & Shark then Fairystone ( if you'll have kids - the next version will integrate a two players mode). But yes, it works with an iPhone 4S, thank you to mention it. And I truly like to read you
An OK experience on my 4S when I've got a few minutes to spare at work (and where I don't have my iPad) is better than a no-experience if it didn't work On a side note, I didn't know about the gliding. I thought left side was only for throttle. It makes a lot of sense now.
you can glide to the left or to the right with you left thumb. Just press and hold your left thumb ( and use the throttle ) then slide your thumb to the right or to the left. It's useful.
Nice game, but unfortunately I won't be playing it as the forced tilt control on the camera really distracts me. Any chance that will be changed to a possible midscreen swipe option later on?
yes of course! ahhhh I'm thinking this feature is one of the best of this game But it's easy to add this On/off feature ( in fact when you play with the two players mode, it doesn't use this camera feature).
Does this mean the engine will be tweaked further down the road to cut down on large scenery pop-in? I'm just really sensitive to these matters, especially when the world looks so incredible as it already does. Definitely keeping an eye on this one though. It looks really good overall.
Yes it does. The rolling Block engines continues to grown up. Fairy stone will be updated in the next few days with this new engine ( you could construct now with two players/split screen option) as fish and shark after. I think the pop up could be attenuated with a fade off. Our issue here is the hight altitude. If you're playing at low altitude, you don't see the clipping( see fish & shark). But the problem appears with this aircraft!!! Because you could see the world!!! Truly I don't feel it when I'm playing, but now, I have a list of new things to do with this engine Thank for your input.
Hi, guys! Well I tried, I really did. Just couldn't fly the thing. It controls more like a heli than a plane. You have to put the nose down and apply thrust to move forward, then pull back and thrust to keep altitude. Way too fiddly for me, but the videos show it can be done. I'll just have to go back to that Apache sim game I guess...it's a shame though, I really love the concept. Give me a heli that has constant hover hands off with collective (vertical) and cyclic (directional) control, and I'll take to the skies and save the city folk!
You could see this video if you didn't : Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel The control of this aircraft is truly a part of the experience. Because at some point you will feel the gravity. Take some time, play your own music and do it again I've an helico mode but it simply not so fun. Maybe we should work more on this helico mode. Let's see what's happens.
How do I do that? I'm really struggling with the backward control scheme. Seems like the directional control should be on the left and the thrust should be on the right.
To slide, just press and hold the throttle then slide to the left or the right while continue holding. it orientates the trottle. you can see it in the video at the 0:20 seconds when launching and after at 0:54 and the flip left/right is on the todolist A ! for sure in the version 1.1
Man this looks great! Definitely picking it up once this stack of medical bills disappears! I love the "watch" feature of the TA app, otherwise I'd forget about so many great games.
Is there any kind of randomization in this game? And how many levels are there to unlock. I am really intrigued by the art-style and guess it looks even better on my Air2 than in the video.
There are six hand-made worlds you can unlock the second world ( the one in the video) with 10 civilians saved, then 30, then 50 etc. and yes, it looks far better with an ipad 2, because it runs at 60fps and the colors are warm.
Thanks for the quick reply. One more thing, are the locations of the survivors random or are they always in the same place in the level?
You're welcome I would say both. There is a lot of preset place for each world, and this list order is changed at each new game. so you'll never play the same game.
