I'm part of the press and quite good friends with one of the developers.

New things include new character models, revamped online & local multiplayer, a TON of new animations, a new gameplay mode, new commentary (much better) and several other things.

To be fair, that is all that EA do with FIFA each year so it's kind of justified. I just wish they'd expanded it a bit with a better league system and the ability to transfer players within it. Christ, even Spectrum games had this in (Gary Lineker Superstar Soccer, I'm looking at you).

I see. Bad luck with Barca in the Copa del Rey. ;)

It was pretty much all luck. We dominated the second half onwards, they caught us off guard. We've bagged La Liga though and still have a good chance at winning the Champions League.

Champions League > La Liga > Copa del Rey.

I really do feel as though Real Madrid have the better of Barcelona now. I really can't wait for the two Champions League matches though... they're going to be great.

We play so much better football than them, they can just catch us off guard. In my opinion, they're the only ones who can stop us. When we play them at home, in our best-stadium-in-Europe-as-rated-by-UEFA-with-awesome-fans, they'll feel intimidated (hopefully) and let us smash them 5-0 again.

    I hate Mourihno.

You gotta admit though, Mourinho is one of the best coaches in history. I really hope he comes back to Chelsea next season.

There are rumours that he'll be managing Manchester City next. Apparently he enjoys the Permier League and the Real Madrid fans (and Inter Milan fans) hate/d him. I don't blame them - he's too cocky.

When he was managing Inter Milan and knocked us out of the Champions League last year, he celebrated in front of our fans at home. What a tool.

Real Madrid fans hate him? You can't be more wrong, he's like a god to us. Same with Inter, but he's not going back there.

Advice - don't brand your game after a football club.

I would avoid Flick Kick Chelsea like the plague and/or leave it a 1 star review just for having the word 'Chelsea' in the name.

they have the regular game for people who don't like Chelsea. FKC is the same game anyway. Not like PES where you have no choice but to look at Messi's mug plastered all over the game.

You may like him, but many other fans hate him. Sure, he wins trophies, but he acts too cocky which cancels out his only good quality.

also, funny how one of the main complaints of X2 Soccer was there was no manager mode.. why wouldnt they add it here if they are trying to make a whole new series?

I'd guess they either don't listen to the fans, or do listen but don't care enough to put it in. They know they'll still make sales without it, so why bother?

For me, I actually think I'll give this one a miss as it sounds like a thoroughly lazy "sequel" with not enough reasons to upgrade from X2. If they'd cared enough to put in a decent Manager mode it would've been a different story.

You have to remember they're still indie developers. They're trying to make a big brand for themselves as 'X2 Games', not Exient anymore.

Therefore, they are short on time and budget. From the build I played, there's still a lot to clean up and release before spring's over (although I got the game a few months ago).

Meh, that doesn't really wash with me I'm afraid. If Sensible Software can release a game 15 years ago that had one of the most amazing transfer systems ever, with the most outrageous player database (around 15,000 players iirc) then I don't think it's too much to ask for even the most basic of transfer systems. It's only a database for heaven's sake, and Dream Team is a very poor substitute.
