The controls in this game are sooo SOOO bad. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong (please god tell me I am), but even doing my very first whip crack took me ten solid minutes to execute. The next thing it tells you in the tutorial is that you should master the whip crack. Great. The tutorial doesn't show you how to do it at all. Do I lift my finger off during the spin and swipe? Do I swipe as a continuation of the circles? In which direction do I swipe? "Spin a little, don't go too fast"? Ok, how fast? Do I spin my finger right on the centre, just outside of it? On the outer perimeter of the screen? It tells you absolutely none of these things. It's the biggest guessing experience ever. I'd like to say trial and error would at least give you a little guidance, but neeewp. Honestly what do you do. Least intuitive tutorial of all time. Even entering into the tutorial was a complete mess of hitting "tutorial" and then accidentally hitting the "back" button again and again. Diving into this game is a seriously wtf experience.

Yeah, rlly. Rite there with ya bub. Not sure why metal is raving this up so much. Love the game, music, and premise but the arbitrary controls are plain frustrating. Btw, big how ya been to all members, I'm finally back after a month or so hiatus or shld I say 'ban' for being 'argumentative.' So incredulously lame. Anyhow, hi to all the cool peeps.

Your whip handle will always point towards wherever your finger is on the screen, so you can do it right in the center or a big wide circle, as you prefer.

The tip of the whip goes into "whip crack mode" whenever you lift your finger and the whip is full length (indicated by the screen not flashing red) but it has to swing a certain way to actually trigger a whip crack. If you see a yellow trail come off the tip, there's a chance it'll crack!

I bet I could do a better job with the writing in the tutorial and I'll probably tweak it in the next update - questions like these help, so thanks for the feedback!

As for not showing what's too fast and where to touch, I guess I didn't want the tutorial to be overbearing. I hoped that seeing your finger trail for basic spinning and after a whip crack would reinforce habits. I did just have an idea of showing some example finger trails in blue or something during the tutorial, but since there's no exact way you're supposed to do a whip crack (many approaches work, and it's all physics driven,) I'm a little afraid of imposing one specific example and getting in the way of trial and error.

I'm also planning on two other control modes (I wrote them out a bit further back in the thread) which might be more intuitive to people.

Yeah, I found that the controls and timing for a whip crack took a bit of practice but I don't think they're as difficult/frustrating as the above posters. Enjoying the game!

Sounds like there are some control issues. I ask the dev, are there any changes afoot in regard to this? Yet, in the interim is the game playable as is..?

I haven't had much time to post on TA lately, but I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment above.

Game is a lot if fun. :D. You do have to practice but that's true of so many games.

I agree. I held off because of the mixed imps but glad I picked it up.

Ya, so I'm fast becoming obsessed with cracking it. CoolWhip/ReadyWhip combo.

After viewing the trailer, i still don't have any idea how's the gameplay like. But somehow, it has those experimental-game charm tht urge me to and try it out. (jolted on to-get list)

Same here, a nice gameplay video would be great. I still don't know how this really works.

Also is this game not recommend with iPads?
