Take a look at this video of a pre-beta build and you'll see why i'm so excited. IMHO the visuals surpass that of NFS.

They finally decided to self-publish for the iPhone.

    EDIT:

    See another video below:

I dunno, but we see more vehicles on screen at the same time than we've seen in any of the NFS vids (i might be wrong, though). Also the in-car view has to be appreciated!

Pocketgamer did say it had better visuals than had been seen before on any iPhone racing game...

Again, no sense of speed. Look at how slow they're going!
    I'm sticking to fastlane.

I can't really compare the graphics to NFS because the video is so blurry...although I do like the look of the in car view.

Yeah the Youtube quality is just too low to be able to tell if its better or not graphically to NFS. Get Youtube HD please!

Note: in the new (top) video in the first post, they have moved the camera view and pause icons to the top and the accelerate icon is now at the left bottom. The brake appears to pop up when you tap the bottom left.

Even with the HD video and with the new NFS screens, I think NFS looks better. Will still be hard to tell until they come out though.

Hard to say, it does look very good, but i'll still wait for the final product and hope for a great gameplay and controls as well.

    Comparable.

Yeah, NFS has higher quality textures and some more effects and a faster frame rate (apparently...we haven't actually seen enough of it in action), but this game has what looks to be two views, including inside the car with actual driver hands (ala Sega's Ferrari F355 Challenge, which I definitely see as an inspiration for this game), plus it seems to have more cars onscreen at once.

Doesn't matter either way. Whichever one plays better is the better racer, and until we get to play them Fastlane, Ferrari GT, and Fast and the Furious Pink Slip are still the top 3 racing games on this platform.

Too true. Both have decent graphics from what i've seen, so its really just a matter of which has the better gameplay for me. I've not been too impressed with the racers so far (Fastlane did it best for me) so will be keeping a watchful eye out for these 2.

Anyone else notice that the iphone's status bar (with battery, cell info etc) is still visible in the game. Seems really odd to me...Hope they remove that in the final release.
