We try to get our players to give us five star reviews by putting lots of time and effort into making a good game. That's how it's meant to work. flybird Well-Known Member Mar 8, 2011 230 0 0 #7 flybird, Aug 25, 2011 Also as a consumer, if this is available, app store will be in a mess, lol DregsOnLegs Well-Known Member Aug 16, 2011 155 0 0 Secretary City #8 DregsOnLegs, Aug 25, 2011 Seems like alot of work for a measly 99c refund ! And it doesn't even get refunded to your iTunes credit, wtf are we going to do with 99c on paypal? It costs like $1 to transfer paypal funds to your bank account, and whod bother transferring 99c anyway, this whole setup is weeeeiird, and if you leave it in there what are you going to buy? A fake mustache? Or a mustache comb? ( in which you'll have to pay extra for postage) Appletini Well-Known Member Jan 8, 2011 2,564 0 0 Ankh-Morpork #9 Appletini, Aug 25, 2011 Mm-hmm, there's a pretty big difference between asking people to give your app five stars if they think the game deserves it, and asking people to give your app five stars in exchange for free stuff, promo codes or money back. A while back, the developers of Push-Cars ran a promotion that rewarded people who gave honest reviews, even if those reviews were negative, and that's fine. On the other end of the scale, we had the sleazy Slimline Games, who spammed the Promo Codes forum with their derivative apps, offering a chance at rewards only to people who gave them 4 or 5 star reviews. That's the kind of thing that needs to be nipped in the bud. The crucial difference though, as you point out, is that the reviewer is free to write what he likes and it's that that maintains integrity in the reviews. Buying fake ones does nobody any good at the end of the day. sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #11 sapphire_neo, Aug 25, 2011 This is the thing that stands out the most =/ JindoFox Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2008 526 11 18 #12 JindoFox, Aug 25, 2011 Developers who try to buy good reviews are sleazy, don't support them.
