Android is absolute garbage for gaming. However, Android kills iOS in navigation and voice control. If you are a gamer, stay clear from Android (even if Sony Xperia has dual sticks). Honestly, if I stopped playing games and guitar, I would go Android. The app store caters more to the artistic/entertainment demographic and that's what makes it better IMO. Fractured store, spyware apps, and low quality software - with the exception of a few apps - hinders Google's OS from gaining the upper-hand. In all honesty, if I couldn't have a bloody iphone, any HTC is the next best choice. If you had gone Motorolla? .......................?????
Code: I did a lot of homework before I bought my iP4 and don't regret it at all. To me, Apple still leads the pack in phones, but you picked one of the best Android devices. It'd be nice if iPhone had a 4.3 inch screen... As a Crazy Remote owner, Flash is not an issue for me on iP4. If I need to do something with Flash, I just access my pc remotely. I realize not all iPhone owners are as crafty though.
There are some good games on android. I know it is not the most popular with gaming but at least you have access to both systems.
How many minutes/texts do you get for the $15/month plan? You're so lucky to get student discount in the US, no such luck here in UK. Average plan over here is 150 mins, 250 texts and 750mb for £30.
Rocking multiple androids and idevices. They vary in terms of call quality, camera quality, etc. One thing doesn't change, regardless of make and model: The marketplace / app store. *cries*
I'm paying $71.50 a month for 450 minutes with rollover, 5,000 night and weekend minutes, 200 MB of data, and unlimited messaging. I'm almost always around wifi, so the data isn't a problem, and I text waaaay more than talk, so that's plenty of minutes for me. My discount is like 10% off the rate plan. My only complaint about the phone so far is the battery life. To be expected from a device with multitasking widgets and a ghz processor though. It's only like a 1,200 milliamp battery, where it should be at least 1,500.
Dude I freaking love Android. The only thing I feel Android falls behind iOS in is the App Store, and that should hopefully come around. Even if it doesn't, I'm still satisfied. Widgets are good (your argument will undoubtedly be that it drains batter life), Wi-Fi Hotspot is AMAZING, and it's all relatively cheap. That's the experience I had with my T-Mobile G2... that being said, I'm returning the G2 on 4/20 to get the G2x
I'm liking it more and more as I use it. There are the major advantages it has over iOS devices, and then there are the little touches that you wouldn't even notice if you hadn't been an idevice user for years. It's in no way a "gaming" device for me, but I'm having a lot of fun with the Kongregate app, and a few of the free games. My biggest complaint behind battery life is the packaging- the ugly orange AT&T branded cardboard box the iPhone packaging was 100 times better.
All the specs in the world are meaningless when all you can do with it is play a SNES emulator or an ad-laden version of Angry Birds.
I do like android A LOT. Its interface and everything is nice but I agree free games on it are garbage. Theres no credit system like apple either which aggravates me. You have to admit though they are pretty well designed! Although my next phone will be the iphone 6( if it ever exists)
I play more than my fair share of iOS games on my iPad, which I always have at home. I'm not a big fan of casual games at all, so not having the AppStore in my pocket when I have a few spare minutes on the go isn't a big deal to me. Android is great for what I want in a cell phone. But admittedly, if all the Inspire could do was play the emulator and the ad supported version of Angry Brids, I would've bought another iPhone. But for $100 I'm satisfied. I should've mentioned that this is my first android device too, so I was keeping an open mind till I actually owned and used one.
Got a good laugh when I set my phone down today. I was sitting at just the right angle to see that my unlock pattern is completely visible in the smudges on the screen. I wipe it a few times a day, but when I dont it really stands out.
