So my two years with AT&T was up today, but I decided to do an upgrade instead of canceling. I was between an iPhone and an android phone, and since i have an iPad, and have already had an iPhone before, I went with android. Ended up getting the HTC Inspire. http://reviews.cnet.com/smartphones/htc-inspire-4g-at/4505-6452_7-34468800.html Pretty satisfied so far, but it's a big leap from the phone I had, the original LG Neon lol.
BANHAMER!!!!!11!!! Is the game scene as bad as they say it is? Are you going to root/flash a custom firmware? How good/many are the third party tweaks?
Congrats on your purchase. My friend just got one last week too. He now want's to kill himself though for getting it, but he is getting used to it.
Haven't even touched the android market yet, but I'm not getting my hopes up Havent looked into third party stuff yet either, and I might not. Unless there's something I HAVE to have, then my iPad will cover my gaming needs I think. No physical keyboard, but the onscreen one is good enough. Nice size screen, good call quality. The selling points for me were: - 8 MP camera - 8GB onboard memory, with an additional 8GB on an included SD card - price I got it for $100, and a $15 data plan. But with my student discount I end up paying less than I was for a plan without a data charge.
Paradiso..... I have respect for android but honestly, no offense to you because I like HTC a lot, but I hate android and think it is absolute garbage. Still a person is always entitled to their own wants which is fine. Anyway how is it? And you see the vid yet?????
Here's the best quality picture it'll take. Say what you will about android and HTC, but it takes a damn good photo if I do say so myself.
No that's a good pic, I just think I've grown to become a fanboy. My friend has an evo and we fight about all the time. But I do like HTC, just not android. I have respect for it's success, I just believe it's unstable and unclean. RIM even has a better UI.
You don't have to lie to us to feel better about your purchase. We all know AT&T plus phone calls doesn't equal "good call quality". <<wink wink>> It seems like a nice phone man, good call. If you didn't have the iPad I wouldn't support you, but you're covered. Now you can have a taste of both worlds. Honestly, I didn't know AT&T's LTE/4G was "live" and "active" on any handsets yet... or is it?
The Android marketplace feels like stumbling into the wrong side of town. It's the only online store where I've been shot and lost my kidneys.
I figured I owed it to myself to at least give android a shot Call quality is decent, surprisingly. The interface is gonna take quite a bit of getting used to, but I kind of expected that. The screen is responsive and all, especially on the keyboard, but it feels much less fluid than iOS of course. Apple has nailed the look and feel of the perfect OS for me, they just have to get the features up to speed lol. I like how the weather and time are right up front on the main screen, pretty convenient. The flashlight is a nice addition too. Left me seeing little black dots for a while so it's pretty bright. It feels about as sturdy as an iPhone when I hold it, not like some phones that look like they came out of a gum ball machine. No front facing camera, but I don't really use skype anyways. Plenty of neat little filters and settings to mess around with in the camera though. It has geotagging, face detection, autofocus, auto flash, and a max resolution of 3264x1952. Only 2 physical keys, one for sleep and a volume rocker. 4 capacitive buttons under the screen, home, menu, back, and search. There are some decent looking apps, but nothing I'd leave the AppStore for. The market looks pretty nice, but very barebones from what I'm seeing. Overall I'm happy with it so far. I'm sure I'll get used to it
Good call. Not trying to start a fight or anything but one thing the droids have over the iPhones is the ability to play Emu's without jailbreaking.
Nope. Verizon's the only US carrier that has an LTE service live for consumers. AT&T decided they were going to follow the route of T-Mobile and call their HSPA+ a "4G" network. While HSPA+ is faster than what AT&T ran before, HSPA+ is more a type of 3.5G, so it's not in actuality "true 4G." Their LTE network is planned to launch sometime this year. A helpful little guide in case you want to peek around a bit more.
WOW. 200% more customization, manage apps running in background, widgets, quick settings and notificaitions and its open source
I think any iPhone owner would be at least a little jealous of a few of these specs. http://www.htc.com/us/products/inspire-att#tech-specs
