These were my initial thoughts to those looking for quick impressions. I updated from iOS8.3 to the latest iOS version and the Turbo Mode is FIXED in that version.
My gf is wondering this also. This would make her day to play this on her ancient phone lol. I told her to clear a BUNCH of space and run Battery Doctor, we'll see.
Yeah I need to upgrade I'm just holding out until 6s or 7. I just hope it works on 5c because I don't want to carry my iPad on the GO
Yeah, love having the iOS refresh for sure. I couldn't add BB manually, but was able to get it from the main page under More Sources I think. On the bright side, it's been bought and is currently downloading! Better dust off my old strategy guide. And maybe even scan it now!
The interface on the iPhone 6 isn't as bad as I thought, with those side bars, the UI doesn't get in the way too much. Also one of the controls brings the shoulder buttons closer down so you don't have to reach up (Though I almost never used them so I wish they'd be removable). The controls with the actual in game character are VERY smooth and responsive. I like it. This definitely seems like a battery killer however. I was kind of hoping it wouldn't but it seems like it burns my battery even faster than Chaos Rings 3.
Yah regarding the 5s, is there a way to make it full screen at all? It looks pretty tiny with borders on a 5s!
Was there even any news about this coming out? It's like it just came out of no where, also didn't SE stated that they couldn't get this on the App Store?
Initial thoughts: - FFVII ON iOS... OMG this is craaaaazy - Controls are fine, IMO. Analog works well enough and the overlay/placement of the controls are not a hinderance at all. The opacity of the buttons can be configured but the default transparency is fine as well, I feel. - I really wish I could 'stretch' the aspect ratio to cover the whole screen (iPhone 6) but no luck. Tried FullForce as well but it didn't work. - No quicksave? Really? I can't imagine having to play in long spurts to scramble to find save points in the mobile version... - No other complaints or negative comments from me. It's Final freaking Fantasy 7 in my pocket!
Very bad port imo..not impressed at all. Side bars are a no go. Also very ugly interface that looks like a bad emulator. Thx sqex but will stay with the other versions of ff7.
Bought it because well, it's FFVII! Don't really think it is a very good port though. They could have done a better job handling the controls. Having the screen full of on-screen buttons just looks ugly.
It seems that there are no orientation/flip screen option. Or maybe it's just me? And the Quick Save option doesn't work at all.
EP,Just a Stupid Question For You.I See The Bad Interface With Side Bars that Seem to play it on a Bad emulator, and this unfortunately it's the reason that take me away from Smash the download Buttom,But you have try with MFI Controller,The Mad Catz,I've got it,and also others.Playing with Controller you got Full Screen,or the side bars Remain? thank Bro.
I dont have an ip5, but im pretty sure the side bars will remain. One thing im certain though, is that with an MFi controller you can set the virtual button opacity to zero and it's perfect (minus the border which is what SE went with instead of an option to at least stretch to full screen). On the ipad there is no border issue at all since that is the natural aspect ratio of the original game.
I understand all the complaints regarding the virtual buttons coz i agree that they dont look polished enough to match the quality of the game. However, if you really think about it, unless they make the choices and targetting touch-based (which basically means reprogramming the entire game considering the battle camera pans a lot), the only way virtual buttons would work is to have them as invisible as possible, which is why SE went with thin-outlined, no-fill minimalist looking buttons. It's arguably the best way to add buttons without covering parts of the game since the UI automatically moves top and bottom sides of the screen. The only thing i really dont like with the virtual buttons is how they are still showing during cutscenes. I wish they automatically drop to zero opacity during cutscenes instead, while having a tap-anywhere-to-continue dialogue boxes. Cutscenes are meant to be watched and demand your attention, and that is where the virtual buttons fail to deliver. As far as function though, the buttons are spot on for their purpose.
this might only a problem that i've run into, but does anyone know how to change the language settings? i've already changed my region and language to japan, but i'm still getting english in the game.... tks!
