No i didnt forget it. I would never forget i completed this game just coupls years ago (and once in every 2 year intervals before that). The fact that i just RAN to complete that segment says it all. It is glitched. True story. I always play and complete FF7 and Vagrant Story on emulators once every couple years.
So it appears the problem is solved, case closed....perhaps people can stop saying the game is broken now. Lol.
And do you know why this is the case? Because we used to have to hold a button down to run, but because auto run is enabled by default, the button makes us walk. I think the game is looking to see if we are holding the button rather than wether we are actually running or walking.
Today will mark the fifth time I have purchased this game. Twice on PS1, once on PSP/PSN, once on PC, and now on iOS. I think I need an intervention...
Hey awesome people There is a cydia app that can connect PS3 controller with the iPad/iPhone via Bluetooth. Since I own ff7 on pc but I really want to play it on my iPad Air 2, does anyone know if the game can be played with the PS3 controller? Cheers.
It isnt broken now, but it is still glitched and needs to be fixed. All we have is a band-aid solution and not how it was intended to be. It doesnt even make sense that you are running to get past Aeris as she'll only detect you if you attempt to sneak.
So Sad About this Port Man, what could have been... There is nothing more miserable than having to use a virtual D-Pad to cycle through the menu, when the items are just right there for the touching. This makes two failures of epic proportions as relates to an iOS Square game; the other being Chrono Trigger. At least they got FFVI right. This is just way too tedious. Sure, I could use a controller, but that defeats the purpose when I could just play it on Vita anyway. Most frustrating iOS release in the history of time right here.
You can use the PS3 controller with the cydia tweak (FF7 iOS has full MFi controller support) BUT you'll need this iOS app version and not the PC version
Obviously I was wondering if the PS3 controller can be used before the purchase. The analog sticks are working? (Because in the PS3 version they don't)
Sorry cant answer that since im using an MFi controller, where the analog sticks work wonders. If the cydia tweak allows emulating the analog sticks then it may be possible it'd work on the game.
I agree, it makes no sense. Although, I wasn't even referring to you as you seem to be one of the more level headed people on these boards. I just shake my head at the people who complain in an extreme way about a port which is actually really well done....especially considering the original state/aspect ratio of the original game. In fact, with the changing camera during battles Square Enix would have needed to recode the entire game to add true touch controls, not a reasonable proposition considering how long that would take as well as the expense. The emulated controls are perfect for this game as it is distinctly different than all of the other 2D FF games on IOS which lend themselves well to touch controls.
Autosave? Can anyone figure out what the autosave config option does? - It doesn't seem to save anywhere automatically when you quit the app - It doesn't seem to automatically save your game when you walk over a save point I'm not sure what else it might refer to. Anyone?
Yeah I agree, it would be nice if others would do their research before complaining and condemning the publisher.
i'm so happy, can't wait to play it, wish that there wern't borders on the iphone version but i won't let that or the touch controls spoil my enjoyment, all i need now is the kids to go to bed n boooom, back kickin shinra's asses haha ooo yea##
Autosave i cant figure out yet, but somebody mentioned that it was explained in the ingame help which i havent had a chance to check yet. As for the save point, you need to stand on a Save Marker, open the menu, and save from there manually. That's always how it is on FF7.
Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't this game only hours old on iOS? After hearing some of the complaints, couldn't an update resolve some of the issues. Maybe not the overall interface, but other areas people are complaining about. For the record, I bought and downloaded the game, but have not played yet because I am at work. Hearing someone state that FFVII is the worst port in iOS history after only 18-24 hours of existence is kind of extreme. This reminds me of Star Wars: Episodes I, II, and III. They are solid movies, but pale mightily when compared to Episodes IV, V, and VI. Some claimed the the second set of movies ruined their childhood experience of the original three movies. Kinda extreme. What I am hearing about FFVII sounds just like this. My humble opinion, give this time to breathe. It's in the infancy stage. If SE starts sending updates and doesn't fix the UI to make it look less emulator-y, then pull out your soap boxes and I'll be first in line to hear what you say. Until then, chillax bro! Rob
