If anyone can quickly test this for me, it'd be much appreciated. I'm full of anticipation for this purchase but don't want to spend $16 if I have to play it in English...
I'm still downloading (about 45 min left), but once I finish and sync it to my device I'll try it out for you. Sorry about the long wait! iTunes is being slow
This is not right because to be a samurai, you need level 4 knight, level 5 monk and level 2 dragoon (to be a dragoon you need: level 4 thief, level 3 archer and level 2 squire) Find the job you want. All the arrows pointing to it are the classes you need and the number on the arrow is level of that class that you need. Eg: to be an arithmetician, you need: Lv4 Time mage, lv4 Mystic and level 5 Black and White Mages (Bear in mind that to be a mystic etc you need the correct credentials and so on and so forth- That is why the tree is so helpful) Bear in mind the gender of your characters if you want to be a bard or a dancer. Which are very cool (Maybe weak I can't remember) characters.
For what it's worth, the English voice acting was really quite solid. I played this like 3 years ago on the PSP and I had no major complaints.
Not all of them. You generally only get to keep use one skill set of your choice from another job in addition to the skills from your current one. (this screen is not from the iOS game, just found a random image on the internet) So you have your current job's abilities, abilities from another job, a "counter" move passive, and then two other passives if I remember correctly.
You keep them (They're not destroyed/lost) but as said above you can only have one other jobs' skills active at one time. To everyone, Cutscenes here are beautiful, just saw the second one and I'd forgotten how amazing they are. 2. VERY IMPORTANT (Annoying if you miss it). At some time in the game a girl will offer you a flower. BUY the flower! Its good
You never have to relearn any skills or job levels. When you change classes, you can have one other job class's ability list in addition to the current class (for example, you can have a knight with the "steal" ability set if it has been learned and assigned). You can also assign counter and passive abilities you learn from other jobs.
The filthy scoundrels at SE are dirty liars! They insinuated upon release that they would have no plans for future updates, yet in the iTunes description they clearly oppose that vial statement. They do have plans for future updates! What a bunch of shameless rascals!
Its hard to tell people which type of game they will like, especially on the net. But when I first played this I got absolutely hooked and have since clocked up 200+ hrs on this through various versions. In terms of the port from PSP, its solid, all the content is there, the touch UI works quite well and the graphics look just as they did on the PSP. The text is legible but not retina. This is worth $16 IMO. I bought it blind for 40 on psp and never looked back so its really up to you- Some people love it, some hate it (Like vegemite. For the record...I hate vegemite ) PS you can switch jobs willy nilly and all your skills that you have spend your job point on will remain available for use- and able to be assigned to each action regardless of job.
I can't believe I just spent 16$ on an iOS game. Ah well. I played a tiny bit of FFT, a whole lot of FFT:A, so I figured, what the hey? Hope it was a good choice.
I ended up buying it and I'm really finding the text hard to read Its just too blurry so everything now takes twice as long to read I only managed to play 10min of it though, trying to work out how to save was also more difficult than it should be (tbh I should be able to go menu>save>done) instead of a 5 step process
So not to derail the excitement, but I remember playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on my Game Boy Advance back in the day... and loved it. Is this game similar? What's different between WotL and FFTA (for GBA at least)? Besides plot. Thanks.
WotL has a "job point" system which is used to unlock abilities over time, which the GBA game doesn't have. It also doesn't have the "judge" or rule system in the GBA game, so it's a little freer and feels less forced. The story for WotL is completely serious and not campy like the GBA one. It's also an isometric view with some 3D, rather than the sprite environments of the GBA game.
does this game still have berserkers? they're like lizards? and the job point system, is that the same as going on quests in the GBA version?
