Try iphone explorer my friend. It can be a little temperamental, but works fine. eject the iphone from itunes (but do not unplug it) and close itunes before you launch the explorer, seems to help. Also, If it says can find directories or something, just close the explorer and start it back up again, it just takes a bit of persistence, but i promise it will work.
I know I know thanks, that's the program I mentioned to use with Backup Extractor to backup savegames on PC. iPhone Explorer, unfortunately, times out too often.
oops, sorry, didnt read that im surprised there isnt a better option available tbh, it would be a really great program if it was much more consistent.
Having purchased chaos rings then getting an ipad2 and subsequently purchasing chaos rings hd, and subsequently wondering why I even bothered, I too am wondering the same thing. Square Eenix really needs to step up their game with these HD versions or not bother doing them at all, it is such a waste.
This is my first time playing the game and I'm getting hooked. The lag is a little annoying playing on an iPhone 3GS, but runs pretty stable. I tried playing on my iPad2, and it crashes ALOT. I can't get through the first battle without the game crashing. Anyone else experiencing this when playin on an iPad 2? I'm aware that Square's notes states it wasn't meant for the iPad... Just curious if people are trying.
People are trying and crashing as well. Square did state it wouldn't run on the iPad. Also correction on Menu cursor setting in options - if you want it to match the speed of your touch input set it to Faster. I had recommended it to be at slowest before, but putting it to Faster seems to have eliminated all lag with selecting things in menus. @Gabrien Yes they have random battles on the world map for grinding, but it's not as annoying as in the older Final Fantasy games. I'd say its about 1/3rd of the time when moving between points, and cities count as safe zones so no random battles there. You can always skip these by reloading your save if you feel like just plowing through the story.
I’m a big fan of RPG’s since I was a kid (now I'm 28 and I'm still coming back to the biggest and best titles in the genre), but I have to admit I have never played any of the Final Fantasy games (yes, yes, shoot me , although I have played a couple of other Square games. I am really tempted to buy FF Tactics, and the mouse cursor is hovering over the "buy" button for quite a while now, and all of the totally different opinions in this thread are not helping me at all Is FF Tactics a good choice to start the FF adventure, or should I buy Final Fantasy 1 and 2 which are both currently on sale? Sorry if it is a little OT.
Do you mean the random battles that interrupt your exploration and came out of nowhere? I HATE those, and that's the reason I do not like that much classic JRPG. If you meant those, no or at least I didn't found them. There are zones on the map (you do not explore anything, you move between locations like you do in Puzzle Quest) where you have high chances of an enemy encounter (swamps, desert plains...) so you know you risk a fight going there (you would even voluntarily go there to grind) but nothing like you mentioned, if I understood what did you meant (if not, sorry...English is not my primary language). BTW....WOOOOOOOOT finally passed what seemed to me an impossible fight, big advancement in the story!!!! I'm really loving this game!
FF 1 & 2 are basic rpgs, you won't get the depth in story, music, character profiles, skills, abilities, cutscene animations, ect. ect. Then again if you want something easy to beat and be done with so you have a story to tell your friends that yah you finally played a Final Fantasy start there. If you're looking for an engaging adventure, tactics is the game - You can train poachers and sell the furs at taverns, people to negotiate enemies to join your party, beast tamers, ninjas + samurai (who doesn't like ninjas?!), a powerful wizard to bend time as well as summon a dragon to burn your enemies to a crisp, even pull a meteor out of space and land it on your foes face!
Yes, I meant those. They are the primary reason I've never been able to really enjoy a FF game. Sounds like that is not so much of an issue here, which is probably a good enough reason for me to seriously consider this game when the iPad version is out. Thanks for the info (to Cilo as well.)
any one know about this secret characters? http://www.kuponut.com/games/fft/secret_characters.html im dying here..i want the ipad version now...its so bothering to just wait lool WHEN IS THAT IPAD VERSION??!!!
now this is weird..though most people here defending and saying is playing and just not so well polish graphics..it seeem it has loooooooooot of issues check their wall in Facebook... i tried to search for good reviews like here in TA...i was suprised all upset i will get ipad when it comes out even if it was noot so good what why people here is very happy and there are very sad..lol check http://www.facebook.com/SquareEnixDLG?sk=wall
I'd say that those people on facebook are less likely to be as biased as most of the fanboys here in this forum. They are more subjective about the graphics and gameplay as a whole. Here, most of the posts that I've read so far suggests that they are more excited about: 1. the game being ported to iOS 2. it's a SquareEnix game 3. It has Final Fantasy brand to it 4. It plays better than on PSP 5. the old "I love it so you SHOULD too" comments And disregard: 1. the quality of the port (i.e. the graphics) 2. the fact that when it was ported to PSP it has a major graphics and story overhaul, something that the iOS version is missing (understandable since it's cheaper, though the price point is arguable). 3. non existent multiplayer feature. At the end of the day, I'd go with what people have to say on Facebook. There is no reason to believe that any game should have no negative comment. It's just not realistic. And I agree, let's wait and see if the iPad version is any better. If the framerate issues, low res graphics, and other gameplay related problems are not addressed on the upcoming iPad version, then you're better off without this game. And if you still want to play the game anyways, play it on some other platforms. The PS1 version is still the best IMO.
Points 1 and 2 are moot. The overhauled story and graphics are here- the multiplayer's removal does hurt quite a bit though. It's fine, though, if people want to ruin a perfectly good game for themselves with their whining- I'll just be wasting my time away trying to get a Dark Knight in FFT =3
You are of course entitled to your opinion. But to label anyone who is truly enjoying the game on this platform a "fanboy" is bullish$t. And your final bit of "advice" makes no sense: how is it a good thing to miss out on a great game because it could have been better? Should I play this on only a PSone (and suffer through a piss-poor translation, BTW) because you say so? That's just nonsense. There are very good reasons to play FFT on iOS, starting with the much improved save system. There are also good reasons to pick it up on the PSP (it's cheaper for one, and it has multiplayer). Folks should decide based on what works best for them, not what a bunch of jaded purists have to say about it.
Thanks! One step closer, but do I want to get it and start now on the iPhone, or wait for the iPad version...? Decisions, decisions...
