http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-digital.html There is some room here for legal maneuvering (such as the definition of "computer program"), but it sounds like it's okay if you have only 1 copy and delete it if the original is transferred or sold. At least in the U.S.
See you guys in the morning. Going to wake up early before work so I can check out all of the release threads. Hope there's not 200+ posts by the time I get to the FFT thread, heheh.
It's also worth noting that playing copies of a game you own likely violates the end user license agreement for most, if not all, console games.
I wouldn't know, I'm not a lawyer and the copyright website is not loading search results for me. But the point is there's some leeway here.
In having the backup, I will agree to that. But in using the backup as a way to play the game when the original copy is still intact, I have not been able to find anything showing such a thing is legal.
disagree, sorry, i meant prices standards in the appstore. OBVIOUSLY. now, if you like to label your AAA games based on BIG companies names or the length of the gameplay, go ahead, but i rate a AAA quality game by it's production values, we have a LOT of 50+ gameplay hours games in the appstore (mostly RPGs) that doesn't mean they're fun or have a deep storyline. When was the last time an RPG won GOTY? over games like Uncharted (roughly 6 hour single player campaign)... not in at least 6 or 7 years.... Games like Resident Evil, Dead Rising(pretty much every capcom port) and others (but Dead space which is WAY better than what you get in RE M in the 3DS) are poor poor and mediocre ports of their console version. prices over $6 then you see big gameloft games (MC2 god knows how many hours i've wasted with that gem) with bigger production values, at the same price, even indie developers that put more effort and quality into their games and give a frankly better experience, at cheaper prices. IMO we have FAR better games than Nintendo's consoles, EVEN the 3DS, so, porting a big company OLD game is not an excuse to price it more expensive than other fairly better games. that i'm sure deliver a better experience. cause i've played FF before, and unless you're a fan, IS NO GOOD. sorry but that's my opinion.
When the game is out (4Hours Time) This thread needs to be moved to the General section or added to that other price discussion thread......
The AppStore clearly has profound effects on people's views of worth in this world, lol. Just remember that what you're experiencing with the prices of the AppStore is not normal, and that if you ever want games that don't cap in quality with Gameloft (since MC2 is obviously better than every Nintendo game) on this platform, companies are going to want more than $7 per pop. The key is not viewing the pricing of the AppStore as a standard for all video games, portable and console alike. But really, if you think Gameloft's "production value" is the best of the best and as good as it gets on the iOS, I'm not going to argue with you.
Please post opinions, views etc. I had this on the psp (which I paid for). In 2 minds at the moment whether I want to pay again or skip this time round. I wanna see how different it is. Being a fanboy of anything Final Fantasy is swaying me towards the "buy again" side of the fence haha.
In my opinion, i still haven't seen a Gameloft game that didn't have utterly forgettable music, a cliched storyline, or uncreative gameplay. And although there are some good indie games, none of them have really met the same scope and scale as FFT. The one exception is maybe Dungeon Hunter, and even then that feels like a stilted version of Diablo II. There just isn't a game that matches up yet.
Lol, you sound like my brother. But funny story. My original run through the game, I got stuck on Wiegraf...restarted a new save and ended up beating the game in less than a week. Some 5-6 years later I was bored and started ANOTHER new save, but I also loaded up the old original save and kept trying the Wiegraf fight. Sure enough, after switching nearly my entire main party's jobs, I finally beat him on that original save and finished the game on that slot. I love this game, and I always find myself going back time and time again to play it. This time, it will always be in my pocket for years to come, whenever I go on a long trip, I'll just start up a new save, or pick up where I last got bored of it. If you've never played this game and enjoy any form of RPG, and serious strategy, it deserves a play through. Though the price may not be "fair" to todays standards, this game is priceless in my opinion. Give it a shot. It was created when Square was at their peak of creativity right after FFVII. It's flawless. Do it.
Oh, and anyone who takes more than 50 hours to beat this game, fully completed with all Zodiac stones is a noob.
Why? Really, genuine question. Price be damned; can you explain WHY you feel this game (or any other FF for that matter) deserves that kind of adoration?
Because everything feels seamless... Everything fits into place perfectly. The pacing of Final Fantasy Tactics ensures that there's never a dull moment, and building experience is a real treat - whereas doing so is a chore in most other RPGs. Its outstanding symphonic score delivers an epic feel, while the stylized character designs add charm and personality. The challenging nature of this game allows for a much more serious story than most other RPGs, and the ability to customize each soldier to the extreme ensures superior play life. Role-playing games don't get a whole lot better than Final Fantasy Tactics.
WOhO 16 usd for an old 2D kids game lol thats ridiculous i thought it was a full 3D console game for ios
I feel embarrassed for you. Not only because you are wrong and everyone can see it but because your assumptions of the game were also wrong.
