You seem to have missed my point entirely. I don't even think I called this game "premium." But it is definitely worth the price especially if it convinces other developers that all iPhone gamers are not babies who will throw a fuss over a few dollar price difference. Your lack of being able to read shows your inferiority. That's just weird.
On the contrary, I think the only thing it will do to other developers (and to anyone else paying attention) is reiterate that so long as you are selling a "name" you have free reign to charge any sort of premium price for any sort of aged, repackaged title. If you are trying to sell a game only, no matter how well made, original, or polished, you are still in the same rat race you always were, with the same limited pricing options.
Been gone the whole day so anybody want to fill me in on what happened? Was a price announced? And what were that last couple pages of this thread about? Were they just more comments about the whole "this is a premium release!!"/"Square Enix sucks" debate or did they include some news?
Lmao! Price is 15.99. I don't think there was an argument over the subject that you mentioned. Theres gameplay footage on YouTube and some believe it shows that the sound of certain spells were depleted for the sake of no lag. Thats basically all I think. But there were a few debates over the price of this game being too high compared to the PSN price.
WTH are you talking about? I'm talking about big companies making high quality games for a reasonable price and placing them in the AppStore for what they're worth. Personally, I don't like to see games dumbed down for iOS because they can't put enough work or time into any game because people will complain that it's more than 5 dollars or whatever. I see this as a good thing that someone is pushing the barriers a little and people are willing to pay for it and support it. Maybe other companies can afford to not rush their games if they can sell em at a reasonable price. If this game is in high demand on iOS and so many people are willing to pay 15 dollars no matter how long ago the original FFT debuted then all power to Square Enix to price it accordingly. They are not ripping people off here. They are simply doing their job, and that is to produce games that people want. One more thing: you call this game a "insult" Then why do you come back to this thread? Is it to whine about the price? Or to say it's not worth it? Or do you simply not like the game? Then just don't buy it.
crex - $15.99 USD releasing Thursday as expected. Cue the typical debate about any pricepoint above the cost of a donut (or a dozen or two in this case). Oh and for the next one to ask no it isn't universal so iPad version is to follow later.
Not sure what you're talking about, I've only posted twice in this thread (right above) before this post as far as I know, and certainly didn't use the word "insult." You're thinking of another game/thread perhaps.
I see. That was me saying you calling this game a premium release was an insult to the iOS platform. Obviously. Since, you know, that's what it says. Nothing to do with me calling the game itself an insult. To anybody. My mistake for taking a modicum of reading comprehension as a given.
Moreover, Madman never said that FFT is a premium release. Everybody should learn to read. Complainers included.
Rather than do the grammar thing, let's get back to the point of this thread: Great game. Decent price. Worth the buy? Yes, if you can't wait. If you can, it will most definitely be orders of magnitude cheaper as Christmas creeps closer. At the end of the day, it's a judgement and budget call.
Really? I can't tell if it's three or seven. Your awful grammar might have a direct connection to your inability to read. Haha. Yeah, I agree with the above post, but I couldn't help myself, sorry.
