Finally, just a few more days to go! Im glad that SE immediately clarified that the sound bug was already fixed. However, I wish that little lag we saw in the vid was fixed as well.
Thanks for the info! Looks like it's going to be $15.99 after all, but that's just fine. I hope they're putting FFIII on sale though! It's the only iOS game by SE that I don't have.
Other versions? I'd imagine the two Chaos Rings will be lower than $8.99, since the first game sold at $5.99 when FFIII came out, and at $2.99 when CRO came out. FFIII might go $8.99 if that's what you meant. The first two FF games will probably drop to $3.99 as usual. And there are other iOS aren't really worth getting..
It ain't worth $16. If it were a truly new game, it would be. As far as a price drop, yeah, pretty much that will never happen. There's never been a price drop on Final Fantasy III.
You might have to wait a while for a sale or a new game release. I think it's a fair price. If Chaos Rings drops as low as $3-4, I'll finally grab that too!
I think its a fair price for anyone who hasn't played it or owned the other games. I bought FFT on PSP for $10 a long while back (and its MSRP now) and I beaten the PSX version numerous times in the past. I'm a huge fan of FFT and I'll get this for the iPod when its lower. Did FFIII have any release sales when it came out? I can wait though, I'm still slugging through Tactics Ogre, which is $20 new on Amazon. Very amazing strategy games from the same creators as FFT.
It always amuses me how people always seem to be clamoring for amazing iOS titles with tons of depth and 50+ hours of gameplay, but as soon as one appears, and it's not 99¢...
I don't think people is complaining about it... It's just a wise consumer move. I bet my iPhone that this game will be on sale by Christmas... If you're not in a hurry, just wait for a better price. But of course, don't expect it a price drop to .99
Ffiv So here's the inevitable question thats probably been asked already but i'll ask again. What's everyones guess as to when we'll see FFIV?
Thats very true and im in no way disagreeing with you when I say that even though it has all the content and is very lengthy it is still overpriced. The psp version was 9.99 and has exactly the same amount of content as the ipod version and includes multiplayer plus the system is portable. The ipod version is 15.99 and has the same content without multiplayer and the system is portable. So basically were spending 6 extra dollars for less features than another version. And thats fine its just the fact Squeenix thought they could get away with a higher price on the appstore that is so populated by 0.99 games. I myself will be picking this up on launch day but is a tad overpriced due to the circumstances.
Actually, they said that they would be picking it up but also that they think it's overpriced. BTW, isn't that the point of having a wonderful thing called a free will? If you don't think something is worth the price, then you don't buy it right? Everyone is entitled to their own decisions on their money. Personally, I love the fact that Square is willing to price their products at a premium price and not give in to the continuing pressure of the $0.99 thinking of the App Store. Also, I trust in Square's ability to justify their price point with quality gameplay. I wouldn't dish out $16 just for a game without thinking it was worth it first and Square has continually shown me that they take very good care of their games. The sad thing is though, is that the price point will make a lot of people pirate the game instead of legitimately buying it.
QFT The PSP version was way more expensive when it was released. So it is quite ok that the price was lowered now after such a long time. $15.99 is a reasonable launch price for this quality game offering 50h+ of gameplay. If it's too much for you, don't buy it. But stop spamming the threads with complaining about the price!
I think somewhere around $9.99 would've been more reasonable. EDIT: Also Hodapp you bring up and important point. That mentality that a lot of iOS gamers have that a game isn't 0.99$ is probably why bigger companies aren't willing to risk and make bigger titles on it. There's a lot of articles about that from other game companies and developers.
"a lot of iOS gamers" amounts to an incredibly vocal minority. I promise you, FFT will chart high both in sales and likely will hold the top grossing (or close to it) position within a few hours of launch. People bellyaching over the price tag basically don't matter to Squeenix because there's an army of people out there who respect the FFT brand and will pay a reasonable price for it.
