Finally! I am so excited for this release! I got into the FF Tactics games when I first bought FFT Advance for my GBA. It got me through my Sophomore year of college! Can't wait to dive into this one. It's going to be pretty much a port of the PSP game right? I want to get a guide book, and I doubt SE or BradyGames will produce a guide just for the iOS version. But, man, that PSP BG guide is hard to find!
File Size? Also, does anyone have any idea how big this file size will be? I'm doing some data management on my iDevice and need to make some room for this one. Here's hoping they can keep it around 300MB.
This is an old game like final fantasy 3! I'll never buy this app! Square make a new game instead of earn money with the old titles!
+1 Some people love old games because they bring back memories of when you played it when they were a kid.
-1 Deja vu? I totally wouldn't because the games I played when I was younger were masochistic... totally un-player friendly and only 4 directional movement
We'll get new games when people stop quibbling about the price of $3 games and become willing to shell out $30+ for a high production value game. Until then, we should be glad that SE is porting games like FFT. The vast majority of games on the App Store aren't close to PS1 quality (or even SNES quality for that matter).
But we did love it and we have played it, several times, on different platforms over the past few years. Even the monstrosities on the DS. I really enjoyed it, and it was my favorite game for a couple years, but honestly I think I may pass it up this time. A lot has changed for me in life in the past 10-15 years... I'm not sure if I could like it now the same way I loved it then. Once you've beaten the game as thoroughly as I did, what more is there to come back to? A smaller screen
Just remember that some people (me) have never played this game and are excited not just because of nostalgia, but because a truly great srpg is coming to this platform.
I am stoked for this game. My first FFT was Advance on the GBA, and I loved every minute of it. Having not played this game it will be brand new and fresh. If it weren't I too would have an issue getting it again like others. I am hoping though that FF3 goes on sale so I can pick it up. Then when I'm done with FF2 and FF3, I'll pick this up. So a little bit longer of a wait for myself.
This was and still is my favorite game ever (Close with Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness). One word of warning though when this does come out: Save Often! After every 2-3 battles you should because I remember getting stuck in some bloody cathedral in which you could not escape until you beat it. I did not have a save file from the last 5 hours :/ It took me about that long to finally beat the guys since I played over and over and over until I luckily beat them. Anyway, This game is superb- (From Memory) About 40-60hrs for main story and then getting better jobs and characters as well as conquering Midlights Deep adds on another (approx.) 20-30hrs. I am tempted to buy this on PSN (sold my hard copy but still have my save file) just to see my old chars and equipment again <3 . With the updated graphics and no slowdown this will be an "Instabuy" but I still have doubts as to how well the controls will work. tldr: Amazing, long, deep game but you should save often to not get stuck
