I was kind of fond of the music from FF XIII. Other than that, meh. I guess being the cheesy guy I am, I think the story was okay.
Does anyone else have much of a problem with classic turn-based gameplay? The devs all try to be super innovative but I actually am rather fond of turn-based gameplay.
Final Fantasy X made me want to vomit I was so disappointed the classic line had descended to cinematic non-interactive fluff; I couldn't play Final Fantasy XII for long. I missed FFVIII and IX.
I played this on PSP when I had one, and although I loved the game, I hated the "slowdown" on attacks which I hope is fixed in the iOS version.
It has been specifically stated by the SE DLG group on Facebook that the slowdown has been fixed. That alone makes this version worth getting! I loved the PSP version but the slowdown was just a letdown when you know how fast the PSX version played.
FF9 was my favorite @_@ I am playing 13 right now and am enjoying it. Some bosses just take way too long to beat though, and I seem so far behind even though Ive played many hours. Seems like the story hasn't even started yet.
i was reading a walkthrough guide as i played the game and the bosses dont really take all that long. You're probably taking a very direct approach. the right mix of paradigms works out really good. i dont remember ever thinking that the boss battles were taking too long...except for a big one around ch7...even with the strategy guide, it took a while. i havent played FFT...but i am very very hyped for this game...I think (hope) that they're releasing it tomorrow at some global time. So you wont see it in the NZ app store first...it'll just be up
Where does it say this? I scanned their entire Facebook and found no official date, just the whiteboard scribble date. Mind directing us to this official datE?
It wouldn't be the 31st Apple tend to release top notch releases on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.
Yeah, Since the 20th didn't work, it is a pretty sure bet that they will do it on the 27th, since it's the upcoming wednesday. Let's hope!
Hey guys question what final fantasy game should i buy for my ipod... the only ff i played was chaos rings and i enjoyed it.. should i buy 3 or wait till tactics comes out??
Tactics is very different from the regular Final Fantasy games. It is a tactical RPG, not a JRPG. So if you want more games like Chaos Rings, I'd recommend 2 or 3.
I haven't played this since the original came out and I can't remember a thing about it =\ 2 questions... is this the one where if your unit gets killed (even fully upgraded and all), it dies FOREVER unless you have some mage with revive on the field. Meaning after the battle your unit won't be coming back? 2nd question is, in terms of its genre, is this game pretty tough? I've never gotten around to beating it or getting too far when I was younger but I've played similar games to this style over the past few years. Any thoughts?
Chaos Rings is far from being a FF game (no travel, no worldmaps, no towns, no increasing amount of party members etc.). Still, it is a RPG as FF3 is whereas FF:T is a tactics/strategy type of game.
The way it works is that when a unit goes down, a timer for three turns appears over it's head. This goes for friend or foe. When that timer hits zero, they are gone. For enemies, you may now claim dropped items. For allies, you need to revive them beforehand. One reason to invest in items, as white magic can miss. There is a monk skill that is very useful for this, with the flaw being they have to be on equal footing to hit. So, if they die on a hill, you may be screwed. And yeah, it can be fairly tough if you are new. Especially in the early stages, where you have few skills, crap equipment, are frequent,y outnumbered, and everything seems to know counter (essentially giving them twice as many attacks. I've played it a few times, and others of it's type since, and don't have too much trouble with it. So, depends on how well you adapt to to this type of game. If you have ever played Tactics Ogre, I'd say you are fine. If you are experienced with the FFTA games, I'd say stay on your toes.
I tried Fire Emblem but I hated it because you have to manipulate the stupid enemies into attacking the targets they can't hurt rather than the ones they can, while avoiding killing them with your strong characters who could do so easily in order to level up your weaker characters. Just all around dumb. Is this like that?
