I was looking for any news and came across this website called "gaming survival" that states the release of FFT WOTL between June 25th - July 3rd. http://www.gamingsurvival.com/2011/06/26/new-releases-june-25-july-3-2011/ Hopefully there is truth to this. I am trying to keep us all updated since SE doesnt keep us in the loop with the latest.
Given this is unlikely a "straight" plot and I can safely assume the major developments are still in Japan, delay is pretty much expected and judging by the approval rate on the Apple side, the week of 5th July is a bit more realistic. I would not mind waiting, just make this one right, and not so expensive...
I just found the link that IGN list FFT WOTL arriving June 30th,2011 http://www.ign.com/index/upcoming.html?indexType=upcoming&pageType=all&sort=releaseDate&order=asc&location=ign&locale=us If two separate reports have a similar time frame, maybe it might be legit.
So far I just got Sabin to join my party. Games alright. Ff7 did a better job at capturing me and sucking me into the story. I plan on playing this one all the way through though so I can give a legititmate comparison.
According to rumours from a german site, it will be out for €14.99, should be around USD($) 21.99, but will have to look for the link.
Going back to the FF6 vs 7 argument briefly- i've played through both several times, and enjoy each on its own merits. Personally, 6 takes the cake for me, though, since the whole cast have their separate stories developed well, even though there are a lot of them, and in the ending, their musical themes and visual motifs are put together so well that, after watching it, FF7's ending seems almost (but not actually) like a disappointment. The story in 6 also feels a little more epic in scale too, and as a villain, i prefer Kefka. Back OT, I'll be all over FFT if it's out end June. You guys better not be getting my hopes up for nothing!
Hmm, I actually have mixed feelings about this. But, I assumed it's a reasonable choice of price for SE...
Just because it's on the iPhone doesn't mean it's supposed to be cheap. This is a game with more than 100 hours of gameplay, not some 99 cent game that has nothing left after 2 hours.
As far as I know, they've put dozens and dozens of hours into the iPhone port, completely reworking a lot of stuff. If this is really the correct pricing, it might be within reason. But maybe I translated the price incorrectly. In Germany, the taxes are always included in everything. So it might be US$19.99 maybe. This would be (more than) appropriate, comparing it to 100 - 120 hrs play time.
Yeah I forgot to mention that this is a pretty fair price if it's around $20. I will be buying it day one no matter the price. To put it in perspective, the PSX version was $60 new, the PSP version was $50 new, the iOS version likely won't even be half that.
And last time it was 29.99 on PSX store. This is very reasonable price for FFT, however, are any features lacking in this game? The price seems sorta low. I was expecting 29.99 and hoping for around 15-20.
