My iPhone has completely replaced my PSP for that! I just need a game I can sink a lot of hours into, so FFT is perfect for that
I don't think Summer Story has either. I have appshopper set up and usually glance at that before buying a full price game. But I think they didn't go on sale during that time because aren't both of those games relatively new?
Man... i'd love Square lower the prices of the iPhone Final Fantasy's... I mean, i would buy it but man... thats a little much for me for a iphone games.
If SE can get this one right they will be on to a winner. Enjoyed the PSP port and this will be definitely be considered if it's done right on iOS.
I hope they get this spot on and it becomes a top seller for 19.99 then SE announces that due to great sales on fft they will be bringing ff7 to iOS.
Seconded. FF6 was such a fun game, and IMO was stronger than 7. People love 7, probably because for a lot of them it was their first RPG, but 6 is still top for me.
agreed. 6 was way better. I wasn't a super huge fan of 7, although it was fun, I spent more time in tactics overall. FF7 is overhyped, i would way rather play xenogears than ff7 again... chrono trigger for that matter too, or earthbound. LOL. old rpgs.
you are so naive...you think SE is not making good sales uptill now..where are you living dude ..in Saturn ? SE is trying to invade the appstore like gameloft and EA and take its part from that big pie !! and there is a big list of major and minor releases that had been released and will be released ..
Xenogears was a really awesome game as well, and FF7 pales in comparison. That's another one I wouldn't mind seeing on my phone either! I think the PSX RPG library is a treasure trove if companies are looking for ports and remakes.
PSX/SNES RPGs were the best. I can't even play new-gen RPGs. Too in depth, too complicated, and way too many hours to invest. I've had little to no interest in FF since FF9. Xenogears would be awesome, but that control scheme would be super weird. FF7 was good, but just b/c most people played that game first they treat it like the holy grail of RPGs. I enjoyed 6 and 9 way more than 7, but perhaps that was just me. Still no FFT? lameeeee. I really hope they price this game right. I've bought FFT multiple times and really don't wanna shed out $20+ for it again. It is a shame too, because w/ SE the games rarely go on sale.
I'm convinced Final Fantasy 6 will always be the best RPG ever made (never understood the intense fanfare for 7). Chrono Trigger is second.
You are so naive. Obviously you were more worried about your Internet superiority rather than reading my post. I said I hope it becomes a TOP SELLER meaning in the top 25, because as of right now there's not even a single SE title in the top 100. Suggest you actually read someone's post before insulting them and making yourself look dumb.
First off, I liked 7 and had been playing RPG's for quite some time. I think there are a lot of factors people forget when comparing FF7 to the other games that came out around it. FF7 was the first mainstream RPG that was set "in the future" or whatever you want to call it. Xenogears came out nearly a year later, and most other RPG's were set in the traditional RPG settings. (Earthbound doesn't count as it was not commercially sucessfull over here, although I love Earthbound) Back when FF7's graphics came out it was considered jawdropping. Now look at FF6. Which would you rather look at? I think we can see which game aged better. (Xenogears still looks decent, as they cleaned the graphics up from FF7) It was also Final Fantasy, and we didn't have this jaded look we have had at FF, since FF-10X or FFX-10 of w/e it was called. We pretty much were, if they released it we loved it, as their track record easily spoke for itself, FF1, FF4, FF6, SoM, CT. I agree to a point with most of you, xenogears and CT were better, but it seems you are looking at FF7 with hate filled glasses. I would gladly take FF7 on my iPhone. On that note, FFT is my favorite game in the series, and I cannot wait for it to come out. On a completely random note here are a list of games I would love to see released. 1 Ogretactics. I loved this game. And this on a touchscreen? 2 Chronotrigger. No explanation needed. 3 Shining Force 3? - The one on the Sega Saturn? I remember loving it, but i haven't seen it in 12 years so....... 4 Baldur's Gate 2. I know, no chance, but this is simply me dreaming. 5 Castlevania: SotN. The real one. Someone needs to get this in motion. 6 FF7 + Xenogears - They are pretty close for me. 8 Earthbound - it's only this low because we know this will never happen. =( 9 Zombies ate my neighbors - Where is this game?!? 10 Baseball Stars - I loved this game so much. The first sports/sim I can recall.(ability to change stats) I would give one of my pinky toes for this. I would even let you choose. edit: Forgot to include FF4 and FF6 - they would be at the top.
I disagree that FF7 was the first mainstream RPG set in the future. Phantasy Star came out for the Sega Master system long before FF7, long before FF6 even, and it was mainstream and popular. Phantasy Star 2, 3 and 4(which was an exceptional game) all came out years before FF7 and explored a futuristic setting in a much more mature way than FF7 did, I think FF7 was only half futuristic, a lot of the game was still set in traditional high fantasy settings: small towns, caves and dungeons that had no technology in them. A majority of FF7's characters all still used traditional fantasy melee weapons and were not "futuristic" at all! I still contend that FF7's popularity is largely due to it ushering in the PSX era of RPGs and it was a new experience to many players who did not play them in the NES/MS/SNES/Genesis era.
