Here are a few shots from my party, granted I have played 20hrs. I am loving this game more than any iOS Experience yet (Better than the PSP I think)

Hmm, i'm using mostly ninjas on my team: skills are Throw, Martial arts, reflex, Equip Swords and Move +2. They can clear the board pretty easily, although it took ages of grinding to get them, since they had to spend a bit of time as monks to earn the martial arts moves- having chakra, aurablast and the revive skill make them pretty self- sufficient.

I haven't properly tested it yet, but some say that instead of equip swords, its better to have brawler- anyone know how it compares to using, say two high- level knight swords?

You can learn it after reaching (approx.) 800JP in the Orator Class

Yes there are secret Characters and they are awesome looking but not always the best in battle. I have 1 Secret ATM- Possible Spoiler: He comes with a cool beast fighting cutscene also.

    Spolier?
On a side note, I just defeated Wiegraf an OMG that battle is really tough. It took me like 20 tries since it's one that locks you into a series of battles not letting you train in-between. So relieved- Now onto chapter 4!

I am just wondering how long your battery life lasts with this game. Mine is relatively short roughly more than an hour from full to less then 10%.

I have similar battery life issues, and my ipod touch runs pretty hot when playing- guess the emulation is fairly processor-intensive (hence also the slowdown during battle menus etc.)

@zero144: i had no trouble with those battles, with my ninja team! Glad i power-leveled them in chapter 1...

Haha, well played with the power levelling- that will make things so much easier. I haven't really done any major training as of yet but it looks like I might need some- Although my party is quite strong already: 2 Ninja's, Samurai/Dancer, Summoner, Bard.

Yeah- in fact, i have a strange relationship with turn-based games; when i was younger i wouldn't have thought twice about spending hours battling and grinding, but now i just want it to be straight and to-the-point- in fact, i'm not sure i even LIKE turn-based games any more, since they tend to take over large amounts of time on grinding in between the difficulty spikes.

The reason i ground up my guys right at the start is so i can then just go straight through the storyline, and not worry about getting fatigue after being beaten by a powerful boss etc. Things like having my ninjas geared up to do as much damage as possible, combined with their crazy speed and mobility really help cut down the amount of time i spend in battles- hoping that my clear time ends up being under 35 hours...

Then, after finishing the main storyline, i'll come back at my leisure to experiment with team setups, secret characters etc. It might be the 'wrong way round' of playing, but it suits me. I think, though, i might just be done with TBS games in general.

Stuck at Golganna Gallows :( Power leveling atm, I've hardly done any leveling before, level 21 with Ramza now was 15 when I started!

That's one of the hardest battles in the game, look below for a suggestion if you'd like.

Try having a long range character like archer, orator, or chemist and have the knight's break sword (or break weapon or whatever it is in the port). If you can break Gafgarion's sword then he can't use any of his dark knight abilities anymore.

That sounds like a memory leak issue. I'm on a 4g also and it lasts at least 4 hours for me. Try closing all of your multitasking apps and then reboot your device.

    @Dainelli:
Oh ya, the gallows is definitely tricky. I just ninja-rushed the boss to get him out of the way first, then the rest were fairly easy. The ninjas has the 'equip swords' ability, and two knight swords each, so were able to one-shot kill most of the minions.

I spent hecka time grinding and now I have a ninja on Chpt 2 :)
The dual wielding destroys most enemies at this point in the game.. love it!

Does anyone know what the strongest/best weapons for 1 hand are? I've added "equip swords" on my ninja because they're the strongest so far but I'm not sure for how long. Maybe there's something better? And I've also considered getting "Equip heavy armor" to keep the ninja's health up. Any suggestions on which attribute is better?

Early game, it's probably unarmed (Monk). Dual wielding fists, you can get people doing 200 hp a turn later on.

What about generally or long-term? JP is pretty tiresome to build up so I don't want to buy too much stuff that have better counter-parts later on. thanks!
