Looks like it's five banners, two days each, with a "first draw for only 100 Gems" rule in effect for each of them. The CONTENTS of those banners are considerably different than the Japanese version, though - Wakka didn't show up at all in Japan, for example. Remember, too, that the "improved draw rate" is nothing different than what we always get. The "advertised" items increase from 0.001% to 1%. The chance of getting a 5* Relic remains at the 10% overall odds that it's been at for every banner after Aerith's.
Anyone else having issues getting the app to load? I haven't been able to successfully load the app for nearly 12 hours now...
In order to get 2nd record materia for ANY characters you do the following: 1) Get their memory crystal 2) Break their level cap and unlock the first RM (so get them to level 50 and use the memory crystal on them) 3) Satisfy a character specific requirement Tidus and Wakka just happen to have the same specific requirement which is simply play FFX levels with them in your party. Every enemy in a FFX has a small chance to drop their materia. I for example have Tidus but not Wakkas and have been farming FFX levels like crazy since we got the update. Yeah! It's awesome! I finally put down $4.95 for this game (solely to support the devs since I love the game) as I wasn't willing to spend money before... $3 a pull is crazy... but I'll do 5 pulls for $4.95! Likely won't do anymore IAP after this but the game is definitely worth $4.95 for how much I have (and will) play it. My first pull was sadly junk but hoping for better in the next 4 banners! I REEEEAAAAALLLLYYY wish they'd tell us what each banner pairings were though so I could decide where to throw my 150 mythril. I think this Rinoa banner is likely going to be the 2nd best one... but if it ends up being the best one and I saved my mythril for nothing... sad days...

Is it worth it to try and finish all the new quests? In particular the creating abilities ones, since most of them I already own...
I'm going to spend all my mythril on these celebration banners. Reason is a 4% chance at character specific weapons vs a 1% chance at a slightly better hard edge. I'd rather have 4x the odds... Now deciding WHICH one is a nightmare since I don't even know what the other 4 pairings are. I'm guessing this Rinoa/Wakka one will be the 2nd or 3rd best of the bunch... so I'm waiting... but man will it stink if the others aren't as good. It seems very likely atleast one will be awesome though. Any combination of these would make me go Tyro's Sentinel Grimoire Cloud's weapon Vanille's weapon Terra's weapon Rinoa's would also be on that list... but it's in phase 1. Wakka would have been an honorable mention which is why this first one is so tough. But if we get the JP banner that had Cloud, Vanille, and Tyro... oh man I'd kick myself for spending now... Eventually? heck yes. Just don't rush to do them all now or you might inadvertently punish yourself (by using up all your resources). I think I've cleared 65 ish myself currently? You don't want to hinder you getting the abilities etc you need later... but the rewards are good so do them as you can.
I haven't had issues getting the app to load, but it sure likes to crash to home screen a lot. Mostly at transitions between levels. I've only been able to add one or two 'friends' because I crash nearly every time I finish a stage in the Tidus event.

I just like to do the quests because it gives me something to do. If you've already created all the abilities you won't get much (other than some orbs to replace those that you used to create said abilities). However, they are important to do if only because you open up the high end ones eventually that have abilities you may not have created yet (so you can reap those rewards).

Question. I know this game runs flawless on my iPad air 2 but the game frequently crashes on my wife's iPad Air 1, 8.3 installed. Anyone else know anything that would cause this?
Works fine on my ipad air and I'm also on 8.3. Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling the app? Just make sure she has all the info needed to recover the account before doing so in case it doesn't carry through. I dunno. Sorry!
Better than me! I'm on Interior 2 elite. I cleared through up to that point on the first day... but then decided to wait until after the festival (and burning through my mythril for new relics) to try those last few levels. It's a long event so no rush. I'm also hoping to level up Wakka to 65 which should help a lot and we might even have the next batch of memory crystals by then which would also help. And following you as well now too! Man I'm jealous of the whip. I pulled on that banner (the rydia, cloud, kain, wakka) banner over 20 times looking for that (or clouds or wakkas) and of course only got Kains :- ) Still a good one though which I use all the time.
