Ipad has a bug when you try to scroll through your inventory that freezes your game. Incredibly annoying.

 

Any way to tell whether a weapon is range or melee based? If I remember correctly, whips in FF4 are ranged and will do same dmg even if placed at back rows.

 

If Rydia is properly leveled and equipped, yes you do. If you don’t have a good staff for her, you can get a Light Rod (4-star) on elite Underground Waterway (second level of FFIV). It’s a Black Mage equipment, but it does the job.

I think it follows the same concept of every classic FF? Whip does decent damage in the back row. I never tested it to check if it made any difference, but Rydia used one until I got my Gravity Rod.

 

Hey Shaun, in your experience, does 3* and above equipment drop in the dungeons? Or the only way to get 'em is via the mythril rolls?

 

Just got a Blitz Whip from the mythril roll, and tested it out. Same dmg at the back row and front, not sure whether it is classified as a ranged weapon. Just curious on why there isn't a way to determine in the item stats. Synergy at ff4 realm makes the whip's Magic stat higher than even the Gravity Rod

 

It does, but only in higher difficulty dungeons.

And whips are ranged by FF rules.

 

Just started playing. My only FF experience is Tactics Advance (on the old GBA). So far, this game is super fun, even with no knowledge of these games. It's like all the good parts of all those card collecting games (Marvel War of Heroes, etc.). I'm still at the point where winning is easy, but that's actually okay with me.

 

Is the Chocobo summon skill as horrible as the similar Soul Break, or does it actually scale well?

 

Nah, it's junk. Save up for the Mist Dragon, at least.

In the FF world, whips are ranged.

Shaun, need your advice on Sephiroth. Is he use by the jap players? Suitable for end game char?

 

Any list I've seen puts him as the character with the highest stats in the game.

 

Seffy is overpowered as heck. He's one of the more popular characters, along with Dark Knight Cecil, Tidus, and Sabin. The only trouble you'll have in the long run is that his limit break crystals are really hard to come by.

 

How much HP does Rufus have? I killed and dog and put about 8k into him before I wiped. Felt like I was pretty close

I was still arranged for the fliers so I moved my party around a bit. I think I can take him out, but I'm going to grind casually today (my birthday, woot) and Easter to get a couple more levels just to really stick it to em.

 

I think he has like 20-22k. Did you blind him? If you can get him blinded after killing his dog, you'll have the fight in the bag.

 

Does anyone use the white Mage for heals? Especially in elite dungeons
