Is there an option/setting to disable widescreen mode and retain the original aspect ratio on iPod/iPhone 5G?

Just saw that in the video too!
I'm curious what the differences are though.. Higher enemy health and damage?

As much as I love this game, I think I'll have to pass also. I'm not going to pay $17 for a stretched aspect ratio that is not actually optimized for a widescreen (as stated in the description). Kinda disappointed in that, but maybe it's not as bad as I'm making it out to be.

Based on the screenshots, it seems like the stretched vs. original resolution are similarly acceptable rather that the stretched looking completely inappropriate.

Most app store screenshots aren't actual representations of the visual differences pulled from the respective devices (iPhone/iPad), they're just images from one device scaled to give an idea of what the graphics would look like on the other, and not always even from either device at all. :p

That's... interesting... I definitely think they could've done this better but it doesn't look absolutely terrible. I'll probably get this still anyways because there's no other way I'm getting the game :S

To be honest, if I wasn't even shown comparison shots I wouldn't even notice. It doesn't look like it'd constantly bother me or look blurred from stretching.

You're right. Having looked at the screen shots more, I guess I really wouldn't have noticed until someone pointed it out. I hereby retract my last statement. Roll on 11pm EST!

  12. True, but I've played the DS version enough to notice immediately that something was off about the iPhone version. Thanks Sanuku for uploading that video and clarifying the difficulty situation. I think I might actually buy this now.

Devs often upload iPhone screenshots with iPad size to iTunes. I'm 100% sure that the game looks the same in both devices.

I hope this game does really well, if for no other reason that I want to encourage SE that Universal apps is the way to go in the future.

    Wait, confused.

Is this a universal build or one of those iPhone games that can be stretched 2x on an iPad kind of thing?

    Universal.

    Here is proper link

    https://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/final-fantasy-iv/id575119311?mt=8

It says 40% off, so should the price really be $19.99?

Bah. the link is correct, I guess it just redirects to ff III.

Thanks for the link. As usual searching by myself on the App Store yielded no results.

How much space does it take to install and how big is it once installed? My 16GB only has 1.2GB left and it tends to act funny whenever I drop below 1GB...

Anyone sure about the difficulty modes? Is normal just easier than the original DS version and Hard the original DS version or what?

    Will they include After Years?

I ask because so far the ios releases all seem to be ports of PSPs games and there's a PSPS release that include both
