I have an idea - how about SE release FF3 *now* for $15 or $20 and ALL proceeds go to charity for the victims of the recent disasters in Japan? Those that don't want to pay that much can just wait until the regular cheaper version comes out a couple of weeks or a month later at the $8.99 or $12.99 or whatever cost. I'd buy it for the higher price just to get it earlier... Don't really understand the motivation behind Capcom reducing SFIV to 99 cents and then saying it all goes to charity - why not just keep it at the normal price or reduce it only by a buck or so and then say everything goes to charity? Guess that's why I'm not in marketing?
I'll buy it at any reasonable price as long as it's FF3 and as long as they are donating the money for charity.
nope ! alot of people are waiting for it..but i would just sit and wait patiently ! its bound to come soon...march is almost over. it is however possible that the earthquake affected the release date..but i still think if that would be the case they would throw out a message like ff tactics.
You guys do realize that Square Enix is based in Japan, right? Why would they give all their proceeds to their own country? Who knows, they might have gotten hit by the tsunami too, or maybe their just more concerned about their country's welfare than getting their latest game out as promised.
If they are concerned about their country's welfare, the only logical thing for game company is to sell games and use that money to help solve the problem, right? Either by using it to save the company or donate it.
And they have already announced that they are OK on their facebook page. The tone of which makes me feel sick to my stomach. It's almost like they're saying "thank God we're not one of the victims", which is just wrong in my book. Which is why they need to donate now more than ever.
This could release at any random time... their last release, Secret of Mana, showed on the Monday before Christmas (when the App Store was otherwise quiet/locked down). Sneaky bastards...
Well its not like there not releasing anything because this just popped up when searching under square enix http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/dissidia-012-final-fantasy/id424180369?mt=8 So if they can release this why not.......
Maybe that's why they're donating 100 million yen for recovery efforts? http://release.square-enix.com/na/2011/03/17_01.html
Hey, thanks for pointing that out. My respect for SE has leveled up (play FF victory fanfare in background)!
