Right. That was the main point I was trying to make. Perhaps my second paragraph didn't make that clear enough: it's 9.99 because of the name. I'd actually love to see an unbiased reaction from someone totally unfamiliar with the series (is that possible?) as to what kind of value these represent against modern titles.
Eh. It's got stats, leveling up, unlocking characters... turn based RPGs are like chess on steroids too though. Though I see how Rebirth of Fortune is more like chess, since it's 3D and stuff.
Eh, personally, they're all the same to me. I just want to see how FF1 and FF2 stack up. Someone on our team redeemed the codes already, but since the game's not out yet none of the others (including me) can download it and see how it stacks up.
I gave our codes to other writers simply because I didn't have the time to review them nor any past history with the games. I'm looking forward to trying them out, though. Suppose you could email each other the game file if you are all on a single account (we have one company account at STP).
Also, for what it's worth: at 9.99 these games would be the same price as FF 7 and 8 on the PS3. Fair comparison?
Yeah, we have a shared account too, but I have no idea how to email files. Maybe you could PM and enlighten me if you know how? In the purchase history for our account, the "Final Fantasy 1" and "Final Fantasy 2" (Seller: Square Enix) thing is really pissing me off now. I want this game.
The reason I want these games is because they aren't modern titles. They don't make games like this these days. Also VALUE is completely subjective and personal. There is no answer to that question regarding value. It has value if you want it. The more you want it, the more value it has. Superman #1 just sold for $1,000,000 a few days ago in an auction. Not many people would pay that price if any, but the buyer saw value in this purchase. Some will find $9.99 great deal for FF1 and FFII and some won't It seems more than fair to me. If you are totally unfamiliar with the series, there is a good chance you will not see the value in these games.
If you were searching for turn based strategy..well there is battle for wesnoth...and although im getting ff2 and i never played before..from screenshoots and video sample..battle for wesnoth is waaaaasy better..but still i wilk try this ff ..but my advice dude...try wesnoth on my guarante..it will not be easily overpassed by any tbs for long time...
You sound like a smugly bighead. About playtime, FFI will last approx. 15 - 20 hours, FFII will last for 25 - 30 hours.
