Oh theyre isolated No worries about that. In some Final Fantasy games the stage can even be set on another world.
Graphics wise FFII is much more appealing to the modern gamer, FFI is more like Vay. FF1 is 90mb, FF2 is 180mb. If you want just one of them and if they are the same price, II is the way to go
I'll take both, no question. If they don't come bundeled like on DS, I guess there will be a difference in pricing. FF I for $4.99 and FF II for $7.99... I also think that PocketGamer hinted, that there will be more FFs come for the iDevices.
If you are only going to buy one, then pick up FFII for sure. No question about that. Although I love both of these games and will buy both on day one. The story line is MUCH better on FFII. Have fun
So when will the game appear in NZ for impressions..there is a guy named hmar33 always runs the countdown and get it as soon as it is in NZ store!
Is that a definite? Where'd you get the info? And if so... I'll pass. I'll stick with playing the first one on my PSP.
Yeah, it's just that I ran short on money... After I buy GTA I'll have a little under $20 and I still want to save up for Street Fighter and Pro Zombie Soccer.
You gotta have priorities, definitely (and those three games are all sound choices). My point was that the $9.99 price shouldn't surprise people, since the exact same games sell for twice as much on the PSP.
Oh, I'm not surprised, I just wanted to get Final Fantasy II. The first one will be fine for now... I'm guessing I'm a bit past half way through that one, so I at least have something to play.
I used to, but not after they don't respect the embargo and misspell a word in the article while they're at it. Square Enix might not release it on Thursday just to piss the PocketGamer readers off. Nothing was to be announced until Thursday. I'm going to laugh so hard if that happens.
Hmm. Personally, I don't find cross-platform comparisons like this particularly relevant. Does the PSP have numerous other RPGs competing with the FF games at half their price? That's the real issue I think. Sure, people will still buy FF because it's FF. But I think it's hard to argue that in the iPhone market alone, $9.99 is a reasonable price for these games relative to the pricing of their competitors.
It's Final Fantasy. If they were no-name RPGs of the same scope, I would agree with you. But we're talking about one of the most recognizable properties in the gaming world, being released as the consoles get the first FF in 4 years. Strong Brand identity+Perfect Timing = Premium Price. EDIT: It's the same strategy that Activision used with COD: Zombies, which released at the height of Modern Warfare II fever.
What competitors? Other than Elven Chronicles, which isn't very good at all, there aren't any turn-based RPGs I'm aware of. Action RPGs like AA, Inotia, and Zenonia don't count since they are a pretty different genre (in my opinion, at least). I equate these games to GTA coming to iPhone. Plus, you are getting both for the price of what just one costs on the PSP, and they are the same thing! Price comparison is totally relevant
