Well,i'm truly impressed. I always hoped this one (my favourite!) would get ported to ios,but i didn't think they ever would. Now they did it and it looks and plays like a charm. One of the features i was most looking out for was turning off random encounters,but after four hours still couldn't find it. Ugh..it's the pause button in the top left corner. This gives you 4 options which you can turn on and off at will. Random encounters,high speed(really,really high speed ),damage to 9999 and trance for everyone. Yes,the icon is blurry,cut scenes are choppy on my ipad air and no screen rotation. I don't care,this is one of my favourite rpg's and i'm playing it on my ipad. With this,TWEWY and all Cave games working i'm going to be very,very carefull with ios updates. And the music in this game still gives me the chills,best soundtrack in a game for me. Hope you all enjoy it as much as i do!

I have missed seeing this. I'm probably an hour in, and all I want to do is play Tetra Master in Alexandria. This card game is part of the reason I never beat FFIX. So much fun!
I know I love the card game and how they implemented it with touch controls just walk up to the person and touch tej card icon and play. I agree it's fun to just play the card game for long periods of time and then forgetting what you were doing and where you need to go. I'm got two save files going one I'm using a walkthrough and one I'm Not. Right now I'm playing the non walkthrough the most and then go back to that one to get what I missed and in this one it's easy to miss Soemthing!

Question, is this just straight up higher res rendering for the 3d models or did they actually redo the models? Also during the actual fights, is everything super sharp since it all uses 3D models?
Just buy the game guys if you don't like it that's your fault not the games fault! This is a classic and in my opinion best game on ps one and the price is fair. I'm 6 hours in and enjoying it! From what I've read next week the price goes up.
Just like the PSone original, you have to save with Moogles throughout the game. There's one in the churn in Alexandria and one in the guards' room in the Alexandria castle. Other than that, if you close out of the app and hit Continue the next time you open the app, it will bring you right to the last screen you were on, as if you just entered it I believe. It's really a great quick save feature that doesn't even require manual saving anywhere.
No. You can only save by talking to a moogle. You can call a moogle when you're in the field,in dungeons they're somewhere just before a boss. The game autosaves upon exiting.
Wow I just saw a gameplay video and the interface is pretty amazing. I cannot believe they didn't bother doing something like this for FF7. Seriously. Probably the most popular FF game and they probably don't bother making custom in-game UIs because they must think people will buy it regardless? I'm not sure why they did that. I was expecting to see an emulator-esque control setup on FF9.
