They give various 'cheats' like 9999 dmg in battles. On the main game menu there's a ? that if you double tap takes you to this help page http://an.sqexm.net/sp/site/Page/sqmk/ff9/help/help_uk
I read they made a programming error for tetra Master? Is this correct? I was intriguedf by this game for Tetra Master as it sounded like a fun puzzle game (mini-game). Can mini games be played anytime or only at specific times and locations? https://www.reddit.com/r/FinalFantasy/comments/452opx/ffix_ios_tetra_master_problem/
There's tetra, the skipping rope game (not sure if there's rewards for that) and a chicobo treasure hunt
I finally started playing, about 90 mins in. Enjoying it so far, for sure. I can understand how someone would not be satisfied with the backgrounds, the first tavern is almost impossible to see with the blur. But once you get used to it, it's totally fine. If anyone is on the fence, for someone who never played this game before (like me), the game seems worth it in itself. I would recommend getting it.
The continue system in this game is exactly perfect for a mobile game. It makes it really easy to make progress in short sessions.
It's by far the best thing about this version of the game. Has anyone else had any issues with the 'skip battle intro' option not working? It was working fine for me, And now it shows the full battle intro no matter what I set it too.
I noticed that it showed the full intro for bosses no matter what. But it's still working on normal encounters for me.
Just go this beautiful game but i think i might have messed up the configurations by accident. Is there a way i can put the settings back to default? If not, can someone tell me the default ones? Also for the boosters i dont think i put them on but how do u know if a booster is on? Like is there any indication?
I think what I find lacking here compared to other ff especially 7, is the indicator of the entrance and exit, places of importance.. Although ff7 was a bad port but it has that features which makes the game must easier to traverse the dungeons
They'll turn orange or some color if they are on. And although it says it can't be runes off, the only one I've used is the master abilities one, and whenever you close the app it and reload a game it is off and new equipment won't be mastered. Which is a nice way to implement it, I think. The other two though, I think would be more permanent.
I was under the impression that the boosters in the Configuration menu are permanent (once turned on) and the 4 cheats in the Pause menu are temporary (can be turned on/off). You'd know if you turned on the boosters if all the abilities are listed on the Abilities menu (and available as soon as you equip their equipment). The max level will make everyone's level max and likewise with the Gil.
Of course... You always find a fault in any game. Seriously though, Im curious to know if there is or are games that you love most and you cant find anything wrong in?
All i can add here is that for a ported 15-year-old game, SE did an impressive job here. Adding in touch to move and floating v-stick options for movement, and dynamic action buttons, in addition to a few graphic enhancements on the characters, the job they did here makes the FF7 port look like total crap. I still love FF7's materia system, and i prefer the characters more than in FF9, but i gotta admit i prefer this port more than FF7's. I really wish there's at least a chance FF7 would also get the same treatment in an update.
I wish they did this for the FF7 port! I agree with above 100 percent. I loved 7 and I beat it but why didn't they do the same for 7 I wonder if t was hard to find the code. Overall though I'm happy I can play final fantasy on the go!!!
I've never played 7 before on ps1, so I'm not fond of the polygonal graphics too much.. thanks for the gameplay that I like 7 now.. i prefer 6's sprite better for the graphics.. But this 9 is a pure perfection!! Memorable characters, great soundtrack, and overall settings are really good!! The graphics are really good too!!
How does FF 7's save system compare to this one on IOS? Is it mobile friendly, or do I have to play 30 minutes each session to get to a fixed save point?
It seems that each map segment auto saves for use with "continue" from the main menu, but that's only one slot. Still, as long as you switched screens it "soft-saves" at that point, which is fantastic by port standards. As for manual saving, you need to find and talk to the save moogles which will save the game for you among other things. There are 10 or so main slots (more like folders) for saving, each "folder" having 15 save slots. The "folders" are similar to a PSX's 15-slot memory card, so the total save slots in FF9 is like having 10 memory cards dedicated to one game.
Was going to buy but there's no way I can fit this on my 16gb iPhone. I already played it so it's not that big a deal.
