You might enjoy this to an extent then, as long as you aren't at all OCD. If you are the type who wants to collect everything, you will discover it's extremely expensive to do so. It is basically a collecting app. There is very little in the way of gameplay. It's a nostalgia trip and a collecting toy more than it's a game, and to complete your collection you will have to pony up big cash.
Just played this game. I'm so happy I didn't purchase it before. It has no strategy whatsoever and is just a constant tapping fest.
Yeah that's probably the best way you could describe this game. No real gameplay, I like me some FF, specifically old ff but this did nothing for me.
you are right, thats why i keep it on my phone, and if you play it on the go like i do, 5-10min once a couple of days then you will enjoy it, i do
Hard to believe but no, it had a release sale at $2.99 for a very short time (a matter of hours I believe) and has been $3.99 from then until today.
It was $3.99 which was very misleading since that price tag usually indicates some level of quality which doesn't exist in this game. I used to buy anything with the words Final Fantasy on it without even blinking whether I have time to play them or not, but this sorry excuse for a game taught me to do my research first. Square-Enix may have gotten $4 from me with this scam, but probably lost hundreds of dollars in sales from me with future games. I haven't even bought Final Fantasy V and Bloodmasque which are normally instabuy for me since I am so disillusioned with the company now.
Yeah, I just want to see how bad this is. Ain't no way I'm throwing money at a gambling system to get new random characters.
This is a fun super casual rpg experience, granted all you do is tap and swipe but hey isn't that all Infinity Blade is? While Infinity Blade does take timing and attack recognition and this does not, so obviously they aren't the same. Really I'm just glad I didn't pay for this overwise I might be able to justify spending the other 50 some odd dollars to get everything since I already wasted 4.
Not exactly. Infinity Blade is kind of like Punch-out with a little bit of Myst and an RPG/dungeon crawler loot system. This is like a slot machine that never gives you anything in return except some 2D sprites of characters you might have some nostalgia for. It's like SquareSoft is a hobo begging for my change.
I'm sorry I was just having a little fun comparing some basic gameplay elements from one of the most acclaimed iOS games and one of the most despised iOS games. Didn't really mean to put the two in the same category.
There is something enjoyable here for fans, if you can get over the IAP. The music and visuals are nostalgic, sure, but it's more than that. The battle dialogue with bosses, the bestiary and armory entries, and character descriptions are all a bit tongue-in-cheek. I think I'm going to enjoy playing this, now that it no longer has a ludicrous price tag on it. I'll probably even buy an IAP or two. For the record, the golden hourglasses aren't even worth complaining about, IMO. If you're ever at a point where you "need" one, you can just leave the battle and go grind EXP/bestiary entries/rare drops.
