So here's what I've learned so far. (Start with the 4MGs then the next 3 before the missles)

From there I usually start upgrading the center missles or adding Teslas but I'm not convinced I've got the order correct. I'll add more to this as I figure it out. There's a huge pile of money to work with but I'm just a tiny bit unsure. Feel free to build off this...

I think that adding one of the Frost towers around the rockets would do a lot of good (they freeze everything in range if you haven't tried one yet).

I have tried the frost towers. I usually put them in a cross pattern eventually. I have a master plan that's back a few pages. At this point I'm just trying to get from here to there. :)

Well, even at over a year old, it is still the best TD game on the iPhone ;)

Title of thread had me confused (the "new" part).
Then again, I just woke up...

Lol true, I've known about it I was always just 'meh' about buying it. Was wanting a new game though so I went with it. It is by far one of the best TDs I've played [got to round 97 on the first level and lost, I was mad lol]

No..you're right..I just looked at that lol. It definitely needs to be changed..

Personally, I much prefer the "mazing" style TD games to the ones where everything is on a pre-scripted path, so this is an obvious favorite for me. I'm still waiting for a good multiplayer TD game, though - hopefully some developer will do one before too long!

Oh definitely, pre-scripted paths are nowhere near as much fun..Which is why GD: Swarm remains one of my favorite TDs as well [even though its freaking hard]

A multiplayer TD would be pretty damn cool..As long as it was done well. If the devs of Fieldrunners tackled that project I bet it'd be great.

Fieldrunners is a true AppStore classic and the one that started all the TD craze in AppStore.

For me it's still the best TD. I love the style, graphics, animation and open field :)

Very true. I just looked and the only TDs that have managed to remain on my Touch are CastleWarriors, GD: Swarm, Comets & Craters, and although I just bought Fieldrunners, it will remain on my Touch for a very long time ;)

I agree too, Fieldrunners was my most favorite game for a looong time. I do think there are better TD games available now, but Fieldrunners is definitely a classic

I still have yet to see a better iPhone TD game than Fieldrunners. All of the others I've seen either have lousy production values or are path-based.

That's why I'm really curious as to what wootbean says because he generally has good taste. Like I said earlier though, GD:S will remain on my favorites simply because its challenging and I'm a sucker for good particle effects ;)

Yeah, I just don't really like the atmosphere on that one so much, even though the UI is really polished. The gameplay is solid, but the graphics just aren't that compelling, even though they're well made. Fieldrunners is just beautiful, polished, and the gameplay is great.

I am definitely curious about any others, though!

What about star defense? It's quite good despite the lack of updates.

I used to not play The creeps! cuz there was one level which I never passed, so I ended up deleting the game..now months later I just decided to reinstall it and now it's my favorite one. I think that and Fieldrunners are the only ones I play now. geodefense and 7 cities and sentinel and all those didn't last me long

    That's surely a sarcasm?

Star Defense is the most overhyped mediocre game. I was excited when I first saw the trailer but it just failed to deliver. The 3D world is just a gimmick. One year from now people will still remember Fieldrunners and GD, not the same with SD.

It's path-based, which I don't like nearly as much as open-field TD games. Great production values, but there just isn't enough strategy when you can't maze. The 3D-field mechanic is cool, but doesn't radically alter gameplay. Fun game, though, and my favorite of the path-based ones.

Really? I was never a fan of that one, I have to admit. It is just kinda ugly and unpolished, and doesn't have a good feel to it. 7 Cities, the Final Fantasy one, and Geodefense got old fast for me.
