IS ANYBODY having issues with saving scores? I've just finished a bunch of games in Classic mode but my scores aren't being saved. Local scores page is blank
I bought the game back then with 3 maps already and haven't received a single update since then. I can't imagine any TD game with 1 map can survive in today's fierce competition. OpenFeint is a nice add-on but frankly every good app needs a global leaderboard these days so I won't consider this a true free content to existing gamers. Not sure what does "Gold" give. Yes, I agree $1.98 is a small amount but I just don't like the way we're being treated. Thanks for the fastforward button info. I haven't played the app for a long time and have just re-installed it on my phone. Still on first-level, wave 50....
I actually think the new units are lacking. They're just remakes of older units with only graphical changes and the same abilities. When new units come along, you'd think they'd be more creative, such as revitalizing, invisible, multiplying at death etc. What we got in this update was just new HP amounts and different designs. And also, Fast Forward button is useless. It hardly speeds up anything at all. These are, however rather minor complaints, so I still think this game is great.
this is one of the very first TD games for the iPod though I believe..I can only remember TapDefense coming before this. anyone?
In the future you should only buy games that come with an amount of content that you feel comfortable with spending your money on. I will never understand this phenomenon of people buying iPhone games because they hope they'll get updated with more stuff. I'm not sure what you mean by how you don't like how you're being treated. Fieldrunners was originally released in October of '08 for $5. Since then the price dropped to $3, it gained two free maps, and now they're giving you the opportunity to buy two optional maps. If you don't want them, don't buy them. Pretty simple. If you've been enjoying Fieldrunners for the past year and want another couple maps, $2 is a small price to pay.
TapDefense came about 2 months later. Fieldrunners was one of the three first TD games, the others being Mote-M and another retro styled one whose name I cannot remember. I don't know in what exact order they came, but those three were the only ones what came up if you typed Tower Defense in the search bar back then.
I had a feeling I might have been wrong I got tap defense way before fieldrunners, before I decided to get games that cost money
This. Why do people buy a game and expect free content updates. You buy because you want to play what they offer in the first place. Fieldrunners is still one of the best TD for me on idevice. I may or may not pay for the extra contents but it's nice that they are still adding new maps and units for people who are interested. There is no free lunch in the world. If you are a dev, how would you feel if people are demanding for continuous free stuff for all your hard work?
The price is fine, I have no problem with that. It's the fact that it took so long and then after having to wait at least a year, they still expect us to pay for them. I mean how long does it take to make two maps, it really can't be that hard. I can tell you right now I won't be buying them.
The last update was in March, so it's 9 months, not 'at least a year'. Honestly, will you buy it if they release these 2 new maps as DLC 3 months ago (which means 6 months from the previous update?)? I doubt it. Just admit it that you're being cheap. Also, they took a while because they were working on the PSP version. They don't live just to serve you.
it took them awhile to update because the game is complete, they didn't need to add anything.......your logic is stupid
