this is probably the game that went on the longest on a top 50 chart before it went on sale from september: the two updates that EVERYONE waited so LONG for; it kept people hyped -> more people bought it and finally ITS DECIDES TO GO ON SALE; right when its falling out of the top chart! good marketing strategy!
I know how everybody seems to love this game, but I still beg to differ. IMO Fieldrunners is very boring and tedious, and the gameplay is way too simple to hold interest. I thought Creeps was slow but FR is much worse. 100 waves is just too much for a casual game, and the difficulty ramps up too slowly. I'd like to see a blitz game mode or something for faster gameplay. That, or a larger tech tree to give more options for tower upgrades and other variations to give the game some replayability. I was quite disappointed when I got the game, feeling that I had paid for pretty graphics and not much more. Just wanted to give a different opinion here.
uh huh..i heard enough opposite oppinions about good graphics but bad game play to pass this sale..afterall..its 2.99..and ive vowed never to spend beyond 1.99
I'm on the fence; on the one hand, this is probably the most acclaimed iphone game yet and it's within my comfort price range. On the other hand, I don't like tower defense games. I
If you've played TD games and don't like them, then don't get Fieldrunners. Of the bunch of TD games, it probably has the least depth in terms of tower upgrades and gameplay. That's not saying it's a bad TD game...it's just not as hardcore as say 7 Cities or Besiegement.
I disagree with this statement. "least depth" perhaps, but I'd counter with "most fun". being "hardcore" in terms of TD isn't necessarily a good feature. If you didn't like other TD games, there's still a good chance you'll like Fieldrunners. arn
i would also counter saying i think creeps is more fun then fieldrunners. its sort of a lighter take on TD games. Is it as good looking as FR? no, but its the must fun, while providing a good amount of depth. i always see as fieldrunners is super-begginer TD 7 cities more hardcore but still can be for begginers and creeps the perfect mix now the creeps is not my favorite(sentinel is) but it is the most fun.
I agree with what you're saying, but I think it comes down to personal preference. I still play with Fieldrunners all the time because it is fun, and in this case, I was equating hardcore more with depth which is always subjective anyway. But, if you're not having fun, then the degree of depth really doesn't matter.
If you like TD's you must get this game. I loved this game since the day I bought it back when it released.
Actually quite a few are on sale Besiegement $2 (normally $4) geoDefense still $1 iTD $2 (was $3) TapDefense still free 7 Cities is $1 sale (got that for $5 myself) Zombie Attack up to $3??? wow...guess it's gonna get ready to drop back to $1 I'd imagine soon. Garden War you can no longer purchase or get demo. Hmm maybe there was copyright infringement...oh well it's a keeper for me. Even though TapDefense is free if your totally new to TD games you might play that and say TD games suck and move on and never give them the time of day again. If you play Fieldrunners it might just hook you that's the appeal and attraction of Fieldrunners.
