Of course this is a Clash of Clans or Boom Beach type game, but it has something that all of the Clash clones don't have - heritage. More than any other company paying homage to Supercell, Subatomic deserves to create a game in this genre. They produced probably the best tower defence series ever for mobile, and it's great to see the franchise back, even under a freemium model. I was lucky to grab Fieldrunners Attack a day early as it appeared in the App Store prematurely yesterday. So much polish, just what I would expect from Subatomic Studios. Compared to Dawn of Titans, released last week, this is in another league.
I admit, first glance I thought 'clash of clan' clone... but there's just soooo much more to do in this game and combat is much more engaging and hands on. I'm impressed \o/
Yeah, I love full troop control. Prowling around an enemy base picking off targets, then going in for the boom!
I know been looking forward to this ever since it was announced , should be out in the states tonight or tomorrow.. soon!
I usually don't play these types of games. But all of the praise in this thread makes me want to give it a try. I'm downloading it right now.
Is it only for usa and canada? It says worldwide on the front page but can't find it on my country appstore.
I haven't downloaded Dawn of Titans yet, mainly because I don't have a Gig of space free on my phone but I was thinking about it. Now I might reconsider. What makes this so much better than Dawn of Titans?
Been wanting a more true RTS CoC style game, if this let's you control groups of units like I been hearing then sounds like it'll be a much needed change in the right direction with these type of games.
It lets you do that, yes. Also, there's a mechanic with power stations letting the defenses function. Take out the power planet and all defenses powered by it are shut down. You can take out a base without destroying a single defense, or set great traps for units thinking they can sneak in. Really interesting. May be worth something in the long run.
It's now saying an update is rolling out and to keep checking back to see if my region has got the update. It's still only available in the Canadian store but no new update. I assume American release will come after 11 pm EST tonight.
