If its like the first levels are free and then you have to pay to unlock the next ones, that wouldnt be that bad. If its a pay to play type deal, that would suck
Wait just checked their twitter "Reminder: Fieldrunners 2 is coming to iPhone and iPod Touch this Thursday, July 19th! Price will be $2.99. Send any questions our way" And I think I also read no IAP, but may be wrong with that. Still want to hear more about the game from subatomic though!
Fieldrunners via twitter: "@fieldrunners: No IAP. We thought people didn't like that... but maybe we're wrong. We've had a few fans request it. Thoughts?" That's good news too!!
Hey guys! I've been a bit under the weather due to a cold, so apologies for going MIA for the last few days. And with that, let's answer some questions! I sent out the app icon this morning, actually. No one seems to have posted it yet, so you guys are getting an exclusive Use the following link to check out the icon: http://i.imgur.com/oSxyS.png I think it turned out pretty great. It looks fantastic on an iPhone Haha, we've waited two years for launch, yet we still feel the same pangs of eager anticipation as we wait it out until the game comes out on Thursday. So close yet so far! We all can't wait. To answer your question, we finalized a price this morning! Huzzah! The big number is $2.99.
Hey guys! Just went through the rest of the questions - lots of talk about IAP. Very interesting. So, while we have in-game currency, it's strictly earned as a factor of your score. There is currently no IAP in the game and we don't really have plans for it at the moment (realistically, we should probably be working on more levels or something... but we aren't, haha). While IAP seems to be a decent business plan, we made Fieldrunners 2 the type of game that we, as gamers (and TD aficionados), would want to play. Additionally, we thought most people would feel the same as us, so avoiding IAP seemed like the right thing to do. That said a few people have actually requested that we add IAP. Seems like a pretty strange request. We don't want to go the IAP route, but if people really, really want it, we'll consider it. Judging by all your comments, it shouldn't come to that, though Anyhow, that's our stance. I'm laying on the honesty here pretty thick, so if I've offended anyone, apologies. It was not intended - just want to make sure we're all on the same page. The big launch is almost here, but as always, let me know if you have any other questions
I agree with the move against IAP. However if it does happen an IAP i would like to see is like a "god mode". Basically it would let you start with a very large amount of money, that way you could build anything you want. This would allow users to test out tower combos, or just have fun having everything fully uped and seeing how long they could last. These games wouldnt count towards leader boards, and would be just for fun. Im taking this from the game bug heroes which incorporated it really well. Just an idea
indeed very gamers like decision and a lot of respect for doing it. if you gonna add some iaps later i am sure fans would understand that.
Very interesting idea. We've had requests for this in the original, but the fear is that once you have god mode, you don't get as much enjoyment out of learning to play the game. Maybe limiting a cheat like this to IAP would at least ensure that only the people who really wanted it would have access. I'll definitely talk to the team about this. Thanks for the suggestion! Very happy to hear that we're in tune with our audience It'll be interesting to hear what other feedback fans have after they've had a chance to play the game, but I like to think that what we want from a game is the same as what our fans want. If anyone has more questions, keep em coming! Thank you
Glad to hear you like it! You could also make it so the option to buy it only unlocks after you beat the game or something
