The developer should ask Apple for it again. Whose problem is it? At least a minimum sense of responsibility is required.
We are still stuck in Apple limbo, We are being tossed between different support divisions and none of them seem very eager to find a solution. But we are still optimistic that a solution is right around the corner, and as soon as one is found we will release and let you all know. We understand that the situation is becoming quite ridiculous and we share your frustration.
This update sure up and vanished like a fart in the wind. Time to give up on Apple and just put a photo of a panda bear with an assault rifle on the back of a milk carton.
I still don’t understand how a new update couldn’t be submitted instead of waiting on the one that was submitted. Furthermore at this point if I was the dev I would almost just submit the updated game as a new app and give promo codes to everyone who’s purchased previous app, providing proof of purchase.
That would be crazy. I'm sure Feral Fury had quite a few downloads, it would be a complete pain to then dish out a new promo code to the people who bought it originally. Plus i'm sure theres a maximum number of promo codes you can have anyway. People would also lose their progress etc.
it is not as simple as re submitting Feral Fury as a new app, the number of units sold far exceeds the amount of promo-codes available for us to give away. We also need to know the exact reason why its stuck so that we wont accidentally release something that is broken. In the mean time we continue to ask Apple support to find a solution, unfortunately so far their answer continue to be.
It is with great joy that we announce the direct availability of Feral Fury on Google play store as of April 7th and Nintendo Switch later this summer. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skandivania.feralfury If you have been affected by the Feral Fury / Apple hostage situation and would like a copy for Android, do let us know here or at [email protected] and we will hook you up with a copy.
Although the game has fallen into labyrinth on iOS, congratulations on advancing to various platforms. p.s It seemed like a new comment was written in the thread, so I thought it was a good news that finally the problem on iOS was resolved. But that was just hope.
So the Android release is the newer version were supposed to have? Might have to contact you about that since I do have an Android tablet.
The Daily Run mode is missing in the Android version for various reasons, but apart from that it is the exact same as the yet to be released iOS version.
We are still at a stand still with Apple, with weekly promises of a resolution... In the mean time our main priority is the upcoming Switch release. I am sorry that we cant bring you any better news at he moment.
I’m curious (I really am, I don’t know how it all works), can’t you just rerelease the game? Is it possible for you in this situation to release the game as some sort of second version leaving the current one behind? Or did Apple just sort of ban you while the problem is being solved? To be honest, I didn’t expect Apple to have such a problem. The AppStore is full of s*ity clones of clones of other games, but instead or cleaning the AppStore they give good developers such problems. Strange...
The thing is when you release a game on the app store you have to go through a review process. During this process you can cancel / upload new builds etc, but once the game has passed review and you want to publish, the game has to automatically process through the apple servers before it shows up on the store. This usually takes a maximum of 24 h. but for some reason unknown to us the game has been stuck there for months. While in the processing state you can not upload / cancel or do anything to the existing game. As I stated before we have probably sent close to 100 support tickets but as FF is not a high profile game finding a resolution to the problem is not prioritized. Our only option would be to release the game as a completely new app. But as we only get a limited number of promotional keys that would only cover a fraction of units sold. We would have no way of providing a copy to existing FF owners. And that is If a new build would pass the processing state. As we don't know whats causing the issue, a new app is just as likely to get stuck in processing. While rare we are not alone in this situation, we have spoken to others that have had to wait considerably longer before a resolution was found.
