Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #7 Stronsay, Mar 9, 2021 This one’s not so cluttered. Probably as no battling so a simpler interface. Just exploration and quests, plus build your own island section. Compared to usual MMO’s it’s kind of laid back. Early access so not many buildings can be entered at the moment. Maybe more will be added later. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,716 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #8 squarezero, Mar 9, 2021 Sorry — what I mean by cluttered is having all these other players in the same space, walking around and clipping through each other, all going to the same quest givers. It breaks immersion for me and it makes me less interested on the story and the world. Just not my thing. Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #9 Stronsay, Mar 9, 2021 Okay, I see what you mean now. It’s a good point, and immersion is an interesting subject. I suspect it’s all in the mind. There’s no hiding the fact that I’m walking around in a game here. At present I like the hustle and bustle of the city areas and being amongst all the other players. Reminds me of how the real world used to be. But I also like the opportunity to return to my cottage sanctuary, planting trees and stuff. I wonder if Fer.al will succeed. It won’t appeal to non-MMOers for the reasons you give, and probably not to tradional players as there’s no running around bashing things. Pretty good, though, for those who just want to wander around digital places. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,716 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #10 squarezero, Mar 9, 2021 I’m actually going to give it more of a chance — maybe I’ll change my mind. The idea of the game is very appealing to me right now, especially as we’ve been so cooped up this past year. It’s one reason why I’ve put about 100 hours into Genshin Impact and about 70 into Cyberpunk 2077 — less for the combat and more because of the opportunity of getting lost in an interesting space.
